To be really worried/ashamed about my weight

I had various medical procedures throughout February and an operation at the start of March, I wasn’t able to exercise throughout because it would have interfered with the treatment I was having.

I’ve gained A LOT of weight and I’m quite concerned about it. I was around 10.5 stone in January (5’6”, so higher end of the healthy BMI) I weighed myself today and I’m almost 12 stone! I feel so deflated and ashamed. I’ve felt like crying all morning. My clothes all feel tight and I feel lethargic and unhealthy.

I’m not sure what to do about it, I used to pick up fresh stuff several times a week while eating healthily, I obviously want to minimise the amount of shopping trips now.

Post DC I was around 13 stone and worked really hard to get down to a healthy weight eating low carb. Sad I know it comes down to calories but I’m certain I’m sensitive to carb intake, as I balloon if I have too many carbs - at the moment that’s all we really have in the house!

I’m debating doing fast 800 but I don’t know if that’s a stupid idea at the moment given the circumstances? Not sure if that would cause issues with my immune system either if I end up getting coronavirus Confused

Would really appreciate any advice Flowers

Hey OP. You don't need to feel ashamed about your weight but there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to get healthier and fitter. I'd suggest avoiding dad diets. While they may work in the short term, you're likely to put all of the weight back on after you finish your diet. It's much better to cut your calorie intake down to 1,700-1,800 a day and do some physical activity x4 times a week. You'll feel so much better in yourself and it will also be maintainable.

Absolutely no need to feel ashamed. Weight is the least important thing about you.

By all means make changes to your body if you want to and it will improve your self esteem etc. But please don't feel ashamed.

Do you follow I weight on Instagram? Be kind to yourself, think about all the amazing things your body has done throughout your life.
