My lovely mum has pc, she's only in her fifties and had it a couple of years now but she's been very poorly recently, does anyone have any experience of what to expect? I had buried my head in the sand for a long time because she's been coping well but it's getting worse now. The worst of it is I cannot see her at the moment because of coronavirus Sad it's so shit

I'm so very sorry. I have lost two very special people to pancreatic cancer. It's very cruel, it often happens so fast. I'm so glad that you are able to be with her - that must mean the world. Flowers

That has come so suddenly at the end, so sorry you have lost her. How lovely that you had those very ordinary conversations so recently - that must feel hard now but really will be a lovely thing to have shared when you are able to manage to look back and remember without it feeling worse.

Hope you have people looking after you today x

I am so sorry for your loss

marmite92 · 27/03/2020 07:40

Thank you, I'm pleased it wasn't too long for her because she struggled mentally with her diagnosis, but she was genuinely so peaceful and accepting last night and up until she died, she knew I was with her and I held her hand right until the end xx

So sorry for your loss
It is a privilege to be with the dying. So glad that she died in conscious peace and that she knew you with her. It will be a comfort for you both now and later.

Many many Thanks marmite92

Sorry to hear about your lovely Mum OP. Flowers PC is not as well understood as other cancers and lots of research is currently being ploughed into it. My understanding is that it was treated with one approach for a long time until it was revealed that different types of PC cells respond to different types of treatment better, like breast cancer.
