I got told I was aggressive in an email before and I just so whole heartedly disagree
I wrote a response and then didn't send it because I didn't want to get in trouble
I love mumsnet and I have been busier the last month with my eldest off nursery but I would be so sad to be banned or asked to leave
I got the email maybe 2 months ago and it affected me more then I think

Once, recently. I took absolute umbrage not at the fact I might have been a bit curt/abrasive, but at MNHQ's email which I thought was incredibly rude.

imip · 25/03/2020 19:03

I got asked to retract a post I made because I was going to be sued by the company The thread was about. The company was very dodgy. Annoyed me because i did retract the post, as did many others. Mumsnet were nice about it. Company is as dodgy as fuck.

ALongHardWinter · 25/03/2020 19:08

Just watching to see how long it takes for this thread to be taken down by MN. I'll probably get 'told off' for saying this. Grin

Bezalelle Really? Bloody hell. That's awful. Angry

AnyFucker · 25/03/2020 19:13

I have been deleted, politely bollocked and suspended on several occasions

I have sometimes agreed and sometimes (politely) disagreed

I am still here

ShirleyPhallus · 25/03/2020 19:15

Yes @AnyFucker, I remember one of my first threads I read on here was a public one from MNHQ about why they’d suspended you, complete with numbers of reports you’d received and everything. It was very juicy reading and went on for loads and loads of pages. Possibly the thread was started by Justine herself.

AnyFucker · 25/03/2020 19:16

Yeah, Shirley...they threw me right under the bus on that occasion

I am of a forgiving nature though Wink

lemontreebird · 25/03/2020 19:39

I remember that. A load of us namechanged to have 'fucker' in our names.

I got an email once about my behaviour on a thread where someone was making every excuse for not taking their suffering small animal to the emergency vet. I deserved it - I think it was the only time I've completely lost my shit on here.

Cissyandflora · 25/03/2020 20:24

Reddit is much nicer. Good natured and more supportive and kind I think. Try not to take it personally OP. I would be upset too. I don’t like being told off at all. And especially when it’s unjust. Try if you can, to forget it. Maybe just stay off mn for a while.

MintySpud · 25/03/2020 22:04

I usually get rapped over the knuckles for being a pedantic arsehole or for asking men what they are doing trampling over a women's site. I deserve censure for the former, but fully agree with myself with regards to the latter.Wink

Reddit is a great site- it's huge, though, so it can take a while to find the best parts. I rate the fatlogic, loseit and running subs in particular. Loseit is probably the kindest, most supportive place on the internet if you are losing weight, be it five pounds or 500.

blueshoes · 25/03/2020 22:10

I am impressed mn actually bothers to send bespoke emails telling posters how they have fallen short. Don't they just delete posts and send standard emails at most?

GlummyMcGlummerson · 25/03/2020 22:38

I once told someone, who basically laughed when I said I nearly died in child birth, to fuck off

MNHQ then emailed me what I can only describe as a dossier if my insults to others people Blush and told me to tone it down or I'd be booted.

This was a few years ago and I watch my tongue now.

TheLowry · 25/03/2020 23:53

I've had my arse handed to me on a plate a few times. But I tend only to post when I genuinely have a question, so I'm open to being told I'm an idiot.

Gilead · 26/03/2020 00:05

I was, it was a long time ago and in support of someone.
Went on Reddit once (a mumsnet sub) where they were saying I was a sock puppet writing in dds name, so couldn’t be arsed to go back.

AlexaAmbidextra · 26/03/2020 01:30

I had a post deleted. A poster called someone a cunt. I retorted that ‘no, you are the cunt’. My post was deleted and the original one calling someone a cunt was left to stand. Obviously the person I called a cunt didn’t like being called a cunt even though they had called someone else a cunt. 😂

LangSpartacusCleg · 26/03/2020 03:28

So...does MNHQ email you or PM you?

The reason I ask is that I used a long forgotten email address to register so I would have no idea if they try to communicate with me or not.

I frequently post on FWR but, to date, I don’t think I have received any deletions but on that particular board, it is always a possibility.

AnyFucker · 26/03/2020 08:25

If you just get a deletion, you get no contact from MNHQ

cultkid · 26/03/2020 09:44

I got an email saying they deleted my post and then just a small line telling me the tone of my posts is aggressive but it isn't

@MintySpud

"asking men what they are doing trampling over a women's site."

Since when is this a women's site? You should quickly tell those who run it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/03/2020 12:39

Reddit can be very mean. However the upside is you don’t have to sensor yourself as much. I once saw a comment on there “That babyspider poster is a right bell end.”
I was pissing myself laughing.
To be fair they’re probably right 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Purpletigers · 28/03/2020 12:48

Yes and no . I got told off for suggesting that some people shouldn’t have children . I still believe some people shouldn’t have children.

wherethecloudsaregoing · 28/03/2020 13:32

You’ve mentioned that once or twice before, babyspider

Throughabushbackwards · 28/03/2020 13:35

I ventured onto a vegan thread one day (on an old username) and was eviscerated by about 9 posters over a discussion on Oreo cookies.

demelzaaa · 28/03/2020 21:41

@Awwlookatmybabyspider I think, in fairness, everyone on MN gets labelled a twat at some point or another on the MN subreddit. And when they get bored, they eviscerate one another. scoops up own entrails, puts them back Wink The mods there are excellent, though.

@Throughabushbackwards why would you ever make the mistake of talking to vegans? Whyyy?
