I am going through all my emails and unsubscribing and deleting and "filing", it's mind numbingly boring.

OP posts:
SynchroSwimmer · 25/03/2020 22:47

Writing To-Do-Lists, lots of them, covering all the worktops....just writing them down, (not actually doing any jobs).

Oh, did replace a petrol mower pull cord after following a You-Tube video, took 2 hours, (5 minute job) and I did it without crying (feel like I deserve a Girl Guide badge for this)...

QuimReaper · 25/03/2020 22:55

@BritWifeinUSA Did your husband ask permission before colouring your hair? Grin

WeAllHaveWings · 25/03/2020 23:08

I cleaned my oven glass door for the first time in years months, I can actually see through it now!!

Small sense of achievement for the day.

JellyfishandShells · 25/03/2020 23:14

Cleaning the slats of the blinds in the bathroom. Slow and tedious but I have no excuse ( and do have a genius little tool to do it).

Tomorrow we tackle the under stairs cupboard and my husband is worryingly excited about the task,

The local refuse and charity shops will be full after this!

During my solo power walk around our deserted streets, I saw someone had had a clear out and had out various things outside their wall with ‘please help yourself’. Normally this would work well but, as I said, deserted streets......

BlackCatsRule88 · 25/03/2020 23:20

There is a small 4 inch by 4 inch hole in the paved bit of my garden, must have been where a post was before or something.

I tripped over said hole in the first week after moving in to my house and bought a small box of cement. This was FOUR YEARS ago.

This weekend I finally mixed it and filled the hole. It took me TEN MINUTES max.

disneydatknee · 25/03/2020 23:21

I tidied up all my pinterest boards today. Had to be done!

Jellykat · 25/03/2020 23:28

Cleaned all the plates my indoor plant pots stand on, and the cupboard under the sink, where i found cleaning products i didn't even know i had.

HerRoyalNotness · 25/03/2020 23:29

Editing and dating/naming my photos. I’m on April 2019.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/03/2020 00:05

Sorting kitchen cupboards one after another.
Sorting my clothes.
Tackle the big toy cupboard.

Paint ceilings.
Paint woodwork in kitchen.
Paint kitchen walls.

Paint dd1's bedroom (if she lets me).

None of the above require DIY shops as we already have the paint.

I'd have liked to paper the living/dining room but that will have to wait for better times.

Davros · 26/03/2020 00:12

Beat this - on my list is to clean individually the leaves on the house plants 🥱. I haven't started yet but I got the leaf wipes out

Canuckduck · 26/03/2020 01:56

We’re on Day 10 here. I’ve done innumerable loads of laundry, cleaned and sanitized all the surfaces, cleaned and hoovered the car, tidied the garage and tuned up the bikes, purged toys, tidied kitchen cupboard, raked the lawn, tidied the flower beds. I’m running out of things to do now!

LifeIsAPotato · 26/03/2020 05:12

Washing/bleaching the bins!

LangSpartacusCleg · 26/03/2020 05:50

About to clean out the cupboard underneath the sink. Wish me luck.

Lillyhatesjaz · 26/03/2020 06:20

I emptied the compost bin yesterday and sorted the contents into soil I can plant things in and non rottted stuff to go back in the bin

SpeckledyHen · 26/03/2020 06:35

I wiped down all the skirting boards downstairs yesterday with a damp cloth . Can’t wait to do upstairs today :)

LangSpartacusCleg · 26/03/2020 06:49

@SpeckledyHen I recently found a new and much easier way to dust my skirting boards - use a dryer sheet instead of a damp cloth.

The anti static properties really work and pulled up all the dust without any effort from me. Plus, I put a fair bit of laundry in the tumble dryer so there is always a used dryer sheet around.

I’m close to saying it is life changing!

ChippyMinton · 26/03/2020 06:50

Now working (from home) so cleared out the junk room study to make space for an a desk, a job that was about 10 years overdue. Have rigged up a bedsheet as a makeshift backdrop for video calls to cover the untidy bookshelves, much to my colleagues amusement. If work tails off (unlikely) I will tidy the bookshelves.

Jealous of all the pottering about that others are doing.

Deliqueen · 26/03/2020 06:55

Still working. Had 1000 letters to be folded and put in to envelopes delivered yesterday. 🤯

TheLittleDogLaughed · 26/03/2020 06:59

I’m working from home now with plenty to do but really struggling to motivate myself to get on with it.

My bookshelves, on the other hand, are alphabetised now and dust free!

Me and dh have also made a list which includes repainting the lounge with paint we bought to do it FIVE YEARS AGO.

EverydayLife · 26/03/2020 07:01

Replaced all the odd bulbs that had gone. Ordered them online as they were all different and fiddly but actually done it now.

WhenDoIGetToSleep · 26/03/2020 07:13

So far I've tidied up after the kids (3.5yo & almost 2yo).

And then tidied up after the kids.

And then tidied away the toys the kids got back out as I was tidying.

Somehow I get the feeling this may be a lesson in futility. I think I may give in and succumb to the toys strewn across the floor...

SpeckledyHen · 26/03/2020 07:24

Wow thanks Lang I’m even more excited 😆 about my day now !

Even better is a ‘used’ item works .

Davros · 26/03/2020 07:39

I've got unused tumble drier sheets. Do they have to be used already?

LangSpartacusCleg · 26/03/2020 08:03

Davros I have no idea. I have only tried it with used ones.

I still haven’t done the cupboard underneath the sink though. I blame Mumsnet for distracting me.

Charlottejade89 · 26/03/2020 08:04

we started 2 weeks isolation on Monday just before lockdown as dd has a cough and so far me and dp have filled the cracks in the garden with concrete, cut back and deadheaded all the bushes and plants, cleaned, fixed, inflated and filled the lazy spa, sanded and painted by the back door(was starting to get abit moldy) cleaned on top of the kitchen cupboards, cleaned the kitchen umpteen times and done several loads of washing. Jobs for today include starting a deep clean and tidy from the upstairs down, followed by chilling out in the hot tub this afternoon
