I am going through all my emails and unsubscribing and deleting and "filing", it's mind numbingly boring.

Blimey @TheDogsMother how long have you been on lockdown, you've done so much!

Ive done nothing today except lie on the sofa watching telly...i flicked on itv3 earlier to watch Quincy and it was about a bloody virus....i am now making a lasagne for tea.

BritWifeinUSA · 25/03/2020 18:02

I’m still working because I work from home anyway so no change there. But The Husband has cleaned the barbecue, colored my hair, turned the mattresses, cleaned the blinds, and started filing random documents. Would have been nice if he’d tidied up all his mess in the garage instead.

fussychica · 25/03/2020 18:03

The weather was fab here today so I just sat in the garden reading the new Kate Atkinson while my DH did some gutter repairs. I did descale the kettle which took all of 5 minutesGrin

TheDogsMother · 25/03/2020 18:04

@Barbies97 Been here for 10 days now and my work has fallen off a cliff (self employed). The one thing I do have right now is time Wink

Teaandbiscuitsallday · 25/03/2020 18:09

Scrubbing the outside walls of your house?!

GalactiCat · 25/03/2020 18:10

Ive just been furloughed so cleaned and cleared out the kitchen and found a long lost casserole pot!
Tomorrow I'm doing the old farm office which is a complete dumping ground. Luckily I can stack everything to go to the tip in the barn.
Then I need to start on the flower beds.

Polkadotpjs · 25/03/2020 18:12

I’m WFH so nothing major but I am making more different recipes and exercising more because a PT has started to offer online live classes.

Neverender · 25/03/2020 18:14

Cleaning the plastic strip along the bottom of the shower door... 💤

Neverender · 25/03/2020 18:17

I saved emptying the bins yesterday so I'd have something to "look forward" to today

MrsMoastyToasty · 25/03/2020 18:20

I've written a list for DH.

OneHippoOnThePhone · 25/03/2020 18:24

Working too but vacuumed behind desk for first time in too long which retrieved a clothes peg, various pens and some tape.

Clockworkprincess · 25/03/2020 18:27

Pulled all the furniture out of ds bedroom and deepcleaned. Then did the same with the spare room. Need to organise the books next which is an all day job 😂

hopeishere · 25/03/2020 18:29

My job!! I'm really really busy!

ipswichwitch · 25/03/2020 18:32

I’ll be putting bleach on the bath sealant - it looks scummy so I’ll put it on, then wait, then clean it off. Might have a cup of tea while I wait. That’s rock and roll folks

LongGinShortTonic · 25/03/2020 18:37

I power washed the patio and cleaned the kitchen windows...and child wrangled. All. Bloody. Day.

I have gin.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/03/2020 21:12

Oh god, the windows. We've lived here 3 years and I've never done them (outside)

Kitchen cupboards- will do that tomorrow I think.

I'm PTA chairman and my loft is literally full of pta stuff, prizes, gifts, donations.. some useful. Some seen better days. I need to rig up some sort of lighting into the loft, or I'll need to bring everything down. Then do an inventory. The thought of it makes me want to cry.

Frontlineson · 25/03/2020 21:37

I may have to

Vacuum the car

FML

blueshoes · 25/03/2020 21:46

I'm still busy working from home. When will I get some free time to organise my family photos from 2010?

DrMadelineMaxwell · 25/03/2020 21:51

I'm wfh (teacher) but realistically, it takes an hour to sort and set the next day's work and maybe another to respond to work that's turned in via classroom, respond to any questions and to do a bit more paperwork.

I've been feeling guilty about using the time to spend on household jobs apart from the laundry and washing up, but this thread has got me to make a list of things to get stuck into once I've done my school work for the morning.

We've had a new bed and it's an ottoman so I need to sort what I want to keep under it and work out new places for everything.

I have a huge toy cupboard to sort now the kids are teens and not interested any more, but the charity shops are closed as are the skips so if I fill bags, there'll be nowhere to put them!

mineofuselessinformation · 25/03/2020 21:57

I'm still busy WFH (teacher), but I have got outside to make my back garden look more like one over the last few days when I've finished work!
I've also reorganised my kitchen worktops.
Decorating the downstairs loo (which also has a tumble dryer and storage in it) is next on the list. I can then get my new storage in (which is currently in the hallway, full of all of the crap from said downstairs loo).
I'm then going to move on to my absolutely filthy dare I say it windows...
I think we're all going to have the cleanest, tidiest homes we've ever had by the end of this. Grin

Figmentofimagination · 25/03/2020 22:32

I started my 2 week isolation Monday lunchtime just before the lockdown as DS has a temperature. As soon as I was home DH and I wrote an isolation job list to clean the house top to bottom along with other things. So far we have:

  • deep cleaned the conservatory, so I can enjoy the sunshine more and DS can play out there with his toys
  • set up a massive toot toot track in the conservatory for DS
  • cleaned the dining room and tidied away DS's other toys
  • deep cleaned the bathroom
  • sorted 3 years worth of filing
  • weeded the flower beds.

Tomorrow's jobs are to jet wash the patio, clean the living room and bake with DS.

Then it's cleaning the kitchen (figured it was best to do after baking 😆), cleaning the bedrooms, cleaning the cars inside and out, a clear out of the spare room, cleaning windows inside and out, and moving all direct debits to 1 account.

Barbies97 · 25/03/2020 22:39

@Figmentofimagination I'm exhausted just reading that! 💤 😴 😩

OP posts:
Figmentofimagination · 25/03/2020 22:43

Barbies, that's not all of it as DH keeps adding more. We work alternate shifts so we don't get time to do a lot of jobs apart from the bare minimum. Figured we might as well make the most of it whilst we can as DH is a key worker so will be back to work in 2 weeks (hopefully). It keeps us busy and stops us going crazy.

Mother87 · 25/03/2020 22:45

Shaved my legs (not for any particular reason) / sorted out piles of bedding & put sets together & thrown the manky stuff out / sorted out wardrobes - actually put (little-used) exercise stuff into one place so that it can be ignored for longerGrin/started sorting out spice cupboard😇
