I am utterly aghast that this outbreak is now further taking away the rights of women.

It is being used to push a misogynistic agenda.

AIBU to find this disgusting?

I’m sure that this is an opportunity for some to further restrict women’s bodily autonomy. But there may be more to it, as pp have suggested. Any medical procedure is now under question. Restricted access to equipment including PPE, operating theatres bring converted to ventilator wards, availability of medics. There is an additional risk to staff during some procedures - lots of things will just stop. Women are at so much risk from this pandemic, our increased exposure through low paid jobs where we may not be able to isolate, additional caring duties for children and vulnerable adults, being isolated with abusers with restricted access to DV and other support. Just awful.

Another one who hasn't bothered to read either the article or the thread before deciding that banning abortion is definitely sensible and in no way politically motivated (in Texas).

I find this absolutely chilling.
