So last night I had an insanely weird, very vivid dream...
Tbh most of it is boring, but the bit that really fucking got me

I was driving an Austin Metro!!!!

For a start they were already well old by the time I learnt to drive in 2001, I now only ride motorbikes, and the best bit is I've not been in one since primary school but my brain replicated the interior perfectly (I googled!).

Just why?'??

Why not a fucking Ferrari or something??

Why a perfect replica of a Metro ffs??

My brain is clearly weird. [Confused]

Many years ago i woke up and felt really sick, i knew i would never make it to the bathroom to throw up in fact i couldn't get out of bed but i managed to crap a empty chocolate box that was beside my bed and threw uo into 3 times. In the morning i woke up expecting to see a mess beside the bed only to find i hadn;t been sick at all, it was just a dream ! i didn't know whether to be pissed off or not

I had a dream a few years back, that Cilla Black was in my house.

I'm not kidding.

I came home from a walk, and DH said I have put the kettle on coz Cilla's here.'

She said 'sorry I'm early.'

Cilla fecking Black! I mean I always thought she is OK, but was never a superfan.

(This was 3-4 years before Cilla died...)

I have had equally weird and nonsensical dreams. YANBU to say that the brain is a weird animal.

My Mum had a beige Austin Metro that always smelt faintly of cigars

I dream about the same (made up by my brain) house all the time where there is a whole extra downstairs bit at the back and I always wake up when it’s just about to be refurbished. I can describe everything in it. Must be somewhere I’ve been or seen as it’s so specific. White Formica cupboards with steel edges to open it. But not any of my kitchens I can remember (only lived in 6 places ever!). Love dreams.

I had a very vivid dream in which I gave birth to an electric toothbrush. I spent most of the dream cradling it and trying to get it to breastfeed (it didn't comply).

I was stuck stranded clinging on at the very top of the Shard in a recent dream. I've had some insane shit happen in my sleeping mind!

@Ouchaheadinmybehind now I can’t stop thinking the same about my local shop (a Co-op, for what it’s worth). Also, where would I put everything once I’d managed to get it all home?!

@Poshjock they definitely still do spearmint polos, they’re my pregnancy craving atm, getting through a pack a day (would love more but sugar ) I think the dreaming about binging/being caught is normal though, when I was quitting smoking I used to ‘dream smoke’ and then wake up feeling super guilty...

Pregnancy is giving me some absolutely mad dreams at the moment and mine are usually pretty weird anyway. The other night I dreamt I was unemployed (I’m not) and my husband was my DWP advisor (he’s not!) and kept making me apply for jobs I didn’t want. I’m sure if you take time to analyse that there’s some sort of terribly feminist perspective about childbearing to be had

I dreamt DH went trolling through his collection of antique ear trumpets to find his best one to beat me with (because I left the bath running and flooded the entire house).
I couldn't even look at him when he handed me coffee the next morning.

@MrsPotatoeHeadsSheeWee, no I have not and my bag of wallpaper paste baby looked exactly like it was - a bag of wallpaper paste and I loved it more than anything . I was given a dream dictionary for Christmas and funnily enough my dream was not in there.

I have quite odd dreams sometimes but of course can't think of recent ones now. Years ago I had a dream where Gary Glitter was a monstrous sea creature sitting on a rock and I was interviewing him for a documentary.

Last night I dreamt that my three year old was going out by herself at night, and had become good friends with some friends of my parents from when I was young. I just bumped into them hanging out together when I was walking home from a night out (in my old home town) and had a definite feeling that they just wanted to hang out with DD and I was making it awkward.
