WIBU.......she came home last night and crashed into two front gardens. I reported he immediately and she was arrested. Some have said they wouldn't have said anything and others have said I made the right decision.

Definitely did the right thing! This time she was lucky she 'only' hit a wall. What if it had been a child?

TeapotCollection · 06/03/2020 10:15

Absolutely the correct decision, you definitely did the right thing

WatchingFromTheWings · 06/03/2020 10:15

Only hit the front gardens, I mean. No idea why I thought you said wall!

GiveHerHellFromUs · 06/03/2020 10:16

Of course you did the right thing. What if someone had been on the pavement between the road and the gardens?

LettertoHermoine · 06/03/2020 10:17

You were dead right. I have no time for drink drivers, scummy thing to do. This could have been a MILLION times worse.

nancy75 · 06/03/2020 10:19

Drink driving is disgusting, if people want to drink themselves in to oblivion fine, up to them.
Once they get in a car they put other people at risk, not fine at all.
You did the right thing reporting her.

Seeleyboo · 06/03/2020 10:20

Thank you all. She made a right mess of the gardens. Both owned by OAPs and single. Both ladies came out and cried as their Gardens are their pride and joy. She then denied it. He car is wrecked too. Front and back so she must have reversed into something prior to this crash. I saw the whole incident and feel so sorry for the ladies.

OP posts:
Pinkandblueslushpuppy · 06/03/2020 10:27

You were completely right to report this woman! Those poor ladies! And goodness knows what other damage she has done before getting home! Good on you OP!

Allflightscancelled · 06/03/2020 10:33

Wow! That's not just one over the limit, is it? She must have been plastered! It's completely selfish and you couldn't do anything else really, could you?

starlight86 · 06/03/2020 10:40

Absolutely right decision!

Imagine a person was walking, a family, a child, anyone!

Dont ever doubt yourself for something like that x

puds11 · 06/03/2020 10:43

Well done. Absolutely the right decision. Poor ladies Sad That’s so sad.

Far too many people overlook drink driving.

10FrozenFingers · 06/03/2020 10:47

Absolutely right.

Seeleyboo · 06/03/2020 10:49

The proximity of the gardens is very close to their front doors and kitchen windows too. Part of the car hit on ladies wall beneath the window. No structural damage that could be seen but I'm not a structural engineer. She has driven drunk in the past and normally hits bins etc. There are alot of children and pets in the little close and I was fuming with her. I gave a statement to the police anyway. I feel I acted correctly.

I think you did the right thing. I’m always blown away by the selfishness of drunk drivers. It could have been way worse, she’s lucky no one was injured or killed

Somanysocks · 06/03/2020 10:58

No question that you did the right thing. Hopefully she is insured.

HeartyGreenSalad · 06/03/2020 11:04

Of course you did the right thing, you had no choice. Who on earth is telling you you were wrong to report her ? Her family ?

Walnutwhipster · 06/03/2020 11:05

Not a doubt in my mind you did the right thing but I'd have reported her for any of those past events too.

TheTrollFairy · 06/03/2020 11:06

Absolutely. Bins and gardens now. Animals and children next! This woman needs stopping so you did the right thing. How anyone can sit by and say nothing when she is already crashing whilst drunk is beyond me. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn’t say anything and the next step is a death

GoodbyeRosie · 06/03/2020 11:07

To be honest, I think you should have reported her before if you knew she had done it before.

Obviously you have done the right thing now, but if you have seen her drink driving and hitting bins in the past, why didn't you make a report then?

Figgygal · 06/03/2020 11:08

I would’ve done exactly the same thing I have absolutely no tolerance for shit like that

Member984815 · 06/03/2020 11:14

You absolutely did the the right thing , if you didn't she would do it again and who knows what other damage she could do . This will stop her potentially hurting herself or others

Booboostwo · 06/03/2020 11:17

Yes, of course you did the right thing, how could anyone think otherwise?!

She is completely reckless and habitually drives drunk. It is only everyone's good luck that she hasn't killed someone. Give her enough time and she will.

justilou1 · 06/03/2020 11:19

Good grief! That woman is a danger to herself and everyone else. You absolutely did the right thing! Don’t question yourself!!! I just hope that there is enough damage that they take her car and her license and keep her off the bloody road, and don’t fall for her son stories!!!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/03/2020 11:21

YANBU. She did the crime, she can take the penalty. Unfortunately that probably won't fully recompense for those ladies loss even if it is 'only' property.
