WIBU.......she came home last night and crashed into two front gardens. I reported he immediately and she was arrested. Some have said they wouldn't have said anything and others have said I made the right decision.

No don’t worry, you absolutely did do the right thing!

If you didn’t report her then she could have caused a very serious accident and killed or seriously injured somebody! So you have prevented that from happening, so well done you!

datasgingercatspot · 06/03/2020 15:30

Of course you did the right thing! Selfish bitch could have killed someone. I think drink drivers should go to prison and be banned from driving forever, driving isn't a right. Also think the legal limit should be zero. NO fucking excuse for it at all.

nearlyfinished1moreyear · 06/03/2020 15:37

Definite done the right thing. My friend's son was killed by a drink driver, she never got over his death and as a consequence she developed severe MH issues. She passed away just before Xmas. We say she gave up and died of a broken heart Flowers

PhoneTwattery · 06/03/2020 15:40

I’ll probably get lynched for this but alcoholism is an evil beast. She absolutely should NOT have driven while drunk but you might have ultimately saved her life as well.

AfterSchoolWorry · 06/03/2020 15:46

Well done op.

DGRossetti · 06/03/2020 15:51

She has driven drunk in the past and normally hits bins etc.

I know where my conscience lies - why was she not reported then ?

Singlebutmarried · 06/03/2020 17:05

We had this in our road. Lady middle of the afternoon smashed into a post. Kids had been scooting up and down a few minutes previously.

She got reported.

Seeleyboo · 06/03/2020 19:30

Latest development. She still hasn't returned and a man appeared at her car and took photos. I went out to see who he was and he said she had crashed into his car last night and another persons car and driven away.

Bloody hell, she must have been completely pissed. Not reporting an accident is a serious offence in its own right. They'll throw the book at her.

Your neighbours who's gardens have been damaged can claim against her insurance.

Seeleyboo · 06/03/2020 21:29

Her car is insured so I hope they all get pay outs. She's still not back.

You were very right to report this.

I agree with Phone Twattery; your neighbour is in the grip of a terrible disease, but that does not give her an excuse to endanger her life, or the lives of other people. If she loses her licence, she will at least be less of a danger to others. An acquaintance of mine was caught drink driving, (mercifully, nobody was injured) and before he was allowed to have his licence back, he had to attend a drink awareness course. Those of your neighbours saying that you should leave well alone (why? because she's a neighbour?) are doing her no favours, before you even consider the risk she poses to other people.
