Not to book a summer holiday because of Covid-19

First of all I realise there really are bigger issues and this is a very first world problem to even be considering holiday, but humour me!

We were waiting to book a family summer holiday until we heard about DH work commitments and salary. Now we know that we can afford a holiday I am not sure if it’s worth booking anything as it seems like we could be in the middle of a serious pandemic by then! DH thinks I am overreacting and we should just book!

We had planned to drive to the south of France and do a Eurocamp type holiday but I don’t know if it’s worth booking now. Or maybe wait and see how it is nearer the summer?! I don’t want to get stranded or find we can’t go because of quarantine / lock down. Plus a campsite with a load of kids running around from all over Europe is likely to be a good place to catch something I reckon...

What is everyone else doing? Is it business as usual? Are you booking / have you booked a holiday?

AIBU to put off booking until May or June when we can see what’s happening?

We aren't booking anything yet.

DS's teacher is due to go skiing next weekend in Italy, just for the weekend. She said she's still going. That's another thread right there I'm sure.

YANBU we've been discussing the same thing. Older Docs really want a holiday but we also have a young baby so I'm nervous about going abroad. Will probably look into UK holidays because at least then we won't get stranded abroad. I'm probably over thinking and it'll be fine!

Seems like most of us are feeling like it’s sensible to wait and see how things play out over the next couple of months. I really would like to go away so hoping we can do something last minute. So many unknowns with how this thing is going to spread and how countries are responding!

I’m sure most holidays will be fine but given I haven’t booked yet I think we will wait! I might get a few places in mind though! I really like having a holiday to look forward to!!

I am definitely waiting! Dh and I talked about this earlier and I’m going to give it another couple of weeks at least. Last year due to family circs we booked late and it was fine.
DS is doing an organised trip abroad so I’m a bit worried about that but it’s out of my hands so not much I can do but wait.
