Exactly as the title says.
Came home from work/school run today for dd to find a small card from the RSPCA shoved in the side of the door. Not posted inside or anything.

Do you have a stupid neighbour that your snake may have decided to visit who has panicked and reported to RSPCA as venemous?
My milk snake escaped and found his way into our neighbours lovely warm airing cupboard.
The stupid man thought it was a COBRA and called RSPCA for help, who knocked on my door and gave it back with a little lecture about keeping the tank secure.
Maybe your missing snake turned up?

MarthasGinYard · 27/02/2020 22:30

Perhaps someone's concerned that you are keeping snakes again.

I'd be freaked out if I found a snake in my airing cupboard Shock

recklessruby · 27/02/2020 22:36

*MarthasGinYard it was the size of a small slow worm

HesMyLobster · 27/02/2020 23:21

I think if I found a snake of any size anywhere in my house unexpectedly I would freak out and call the rspca!

They might just have wanted to get in your garden to retrieve an animal (the loud cat for example). They had to get next door to free a badger once. I guess there are lots of reasons they might have called.

To be fair, @NoParticularPattern horses are very good at looking pathetic and dejected out in a field when it's cold and wet. They go all Eeyore-ish and look very sad.

A lot of people who aren't familiar with horses could easily be taken in by this.

Horses are proper cunning buggers sometimes.

Comps83 · 28/02/2020 07:42

I'd be really intrigued
I have seen it on tv where they'll do this or put tape over the door to see if anyone is frequenting the house
Can you email them ?
Probably got the wrong house

LakieLady · 28/02/2020 08:09

Your neighbours think you’re neglecting your pets I guess

Or are being malicious.

My mate had a bonkers neighbour who reported her for all sorts of shite.

She had 4 spaniels, that she bred and showed, and were incredibly well looked after. The crazy neighbour reported her for mistreating the dogs.

The day the RSPCA turned up to investigate, another friend and I were over there, with our dogs, so the bloke walked into a house that contained 4 spaniels, 2 massive lurchers and 2 lakeland terriers. The poor man was nearly licked to death and pronounced all the dogs to be very well cared for, well trained and well socialised and told us that they waste no end of time responding to calls that are totally without foundation and malicious.

Jesus - my worst nightmare is a snake turning up in my house. How did your first one escape? I hope it was just a corn snake. For the love of god, secure them better Angry

HaddawayAndShite · 28/02/2020 11:17

If you have no luck with that website OP you could phone your local rspca rescue? Ours is a local number not the 0300 number, they may be able to give you an alternative number? Or our you through? If you’re worried and wanted to speak to someone that is.

Gingernaut · 28/02/2020 11:22

It's a 'seal'.

They'll come back and inspect it, to see if it's been disturbed.

Someone has reported you for mistreatment of an animal and they want to see if the house it's trapped in is being visited.

It's either a malicious report, or someone has made a mistake.

Canadianpancake · 28/02/2020 11:26

Yes, I have 2 baby snakes. They don't bark.
