Is Naked Attraction suitable for kids?

My friend told me recently that she lets her 11 year old girl and 10 year old boy watch Naked Attraction with her and her partner. She said it was educational and that she didn't want them growing up being ashamed of their bodies. AIBU to be shocked by this or am I being a prude? I have children of a similar age and would never allow them to watch something so graphic.

No! I watch it sometimes and it's an adult programme definitely

ginrummy1 · 26/02/2020 16:25

I'm 48 and it's not suitable for me

Ilovemypantry · 26/02/2020 16:34

It’s an absolutely disgusting programme, not suitable for anyone let alone children.

PegLegAntoine · 26/02/2020 16:47

Ugh. I’m all for openness about the human body etc, and I’ve never seen more than a few clips of the show, but to me there is something very icky about deliberately showing strangers’ genitals to your children. Body confidence or not (like I said I can’t comment on the actual show, language etc) I can’t get past that.

Sunflower20 · 26/02/2020 17:07

No, it's a fucked up programme.

maddiemookins16mum · 26/02/2020 17:26

Nudity is well, nudity. It’s the chavvy, common, crude, language that is more inappropriate.

Sagradafamiliar · 26/02/2020 18:22

Is it fuck.

Sad that your friend correlates a programme that's based entirely on the shallow concept of picking a partner entirely on appearances (or that's what it claims- gratuity is what it really is), like they are objects, to 'not being ashamed of their bodies'.

Canadianpancake · 26/02/2020 18:25

Well it puts me letting my 10yr old watch hunted into perspective.

Pudding51 · 26/02/2020 18:28

No!!! It's a tacky, yucky piece of rubbish tv and the sooner it's gone the better.

pigsDOfly · 26/02/2020 18:28

Nudity is well, nudity. It's the chavvy, common, crude, language that is more inappropriate.

It's not just the language that is inappropriate. The whole idea behind the programme is appaling and it should never have reach air.

It isn't about nudity, it's about judging people, primarily on their genitals, and doing it in the crudest possible way.

It's a seriously sad indictment on our society and shows just how low we've sunk as a society when this sort of thing is what passes for entertainment.

ShellsandSand · 26/02/2020 18:35

The naked body part isn't a worry it's all the heavy sex talk about oral, anal, foreplay ect. My 8 year old knows the basics of sex but I wouldn't expose her to more than that at this age.

JustDanceAddict · 26/02/2020 18:37

Wtaf - it’s grim!
I don’t think my late teen DCs would even be interested.

SpeedofaSloth · 26/02/2020 18:37

No, it's the ultimate in objectification.

ThickSock · 26/02/2020 18:39

It’s not suitable for anyone imo. It is everything that is wrong with society all in one programme. Just horrible.

Raspberrytruffle · 26/02/2020 18:50

That's not right exposing that to the kids, I'd be contacting the nspcc and seeking advice. Bollocks to education has she heard them saying oh man b has a big penis or I dont like women that are hairy how the actual fuck is that going to instill confidence in them Envy

teenagetantrums · 26/02/2020 18:53

God no. The whole program makes me cringe. Teenagers maybe. If it was around when my daughter was 16 we might have watched it for a laugh together. Not at 10

FieldOfFlameAndHeather · 26/02/2020 19:02

She said it was educational and that she didn't want them growing up being ashamed of their bodies.

Christ, well I don’t think letting them watch Naked Attraction is going to do the trick on that score. Quite the opposite.

Bunnylady54 · 26/02/2020 19:04

Seriously??!!!!

Canshopwillshop · 26/02/2020 21:03

It’s almost worse that she records it so that they can watch it!
