Should I cancel my holiday to Tenerife?

Travelling to Tenerife next week with my partner and son. Should I be concerned? Would you cancel? Been doing some research online and I don't think Expedia/airline will refund us or will our travel insurance cover this. What would you do?

I don't think I'd go, in all honesty. DS1 has Autism and would not cope with that kind of emergency quarantine however lovely the resort.

DS2 is like a feral dog and would also not cope, but for different reasons. Mainly that he's batshit crazy if he's cooped up.

idk, I don't think so?

I haven't seen news for a few hours but doesn't Tenerife have 1 case and the UK 14?

So, if you're not worried here, I probably wouldn't be worried there either?

MilkTray, blimey we are booked for Naples in April and I hadn’t given this a thought, given Naples isn’t in Northern Italy and it’s ages away. Lordy people get hysterical. I have a friend going to Venice shortly and that is maybe a different matter, as in stuff might all be shut.

Currently in Adeje ( not the hotel that is quarantined) and there is definitely an odd atmosphere. In the restaurant tonight a woman sneezed a couple of times and some people moved !

I wouldn't do anything at the moment. If you cancel now you won't get a refund. If the government advice changes to do not travel before you leave you would. I would keep an eye on what is happening and decide at the last minute. I flew out to Italy yesterday and kept looking at the government site and checking if any more towns had been quarantined right up to boarding. But I have no health conditions, not travelling with small children either.

I'm going to tenerife next month .
I'm not worried and wont get my money back if I cancel
By next month the cases will probably be in most countries anyway .
More people die of flu
Granted the outcome of this virus is still unknown
I'm 15 minutes away from the affected hotel
At the moment it's one fella from italy and they've quarantined the hotel
I'm really not bothered. I plan to go
Hopefully itll be sunny

My parents have flew there this morning near where the hotel is. I wouldn't have gone.
