To expect enough loo roll in an AirBnB?

SpinningTooFastWantToGetOff · 24/02/2020 07:45

Four of us staying in an Airbnb for 6 nights - only 1 and 1/2 small flimsy loll rolls provided.
Should we ask for more or buy our own?

Buy your own. They're self catering aren't they, AirBnB places?

Topseyt · 24/02/2020 07:48

If we go self catering on holiday I always expect to have to buy loo roll.

Sirzy · 24/02/2020 07:48

At anywhere self catering I would expect enough to get through the first night then take my own

Her0utdoors · 24/02/2020 07:50

I'd expect more, a roll a day minimum. Id expect enough loo roll in a self catering too. I am aware that roll roll is in the same category as the fabled mumsnet chicken though, and some families of 6 can make one roll last the best part if a week. We can't!

arethereanyleftatall · 24/02/2020 07:50

Yabu.
It's self catering.
Buy your own, along with all other disposable items.

cologne4711 · 24/02/2020 07:54

I think given the price of some self-catering accommodation, they can well afford to provide adequate amounts of loo roll!

But it depends what they say at the outset. Some self-catering accommodation provide more facilities/items than others.

Shodan · 24/02/2020 07:56

I always expect to buy my own for long stays (over a couple of nights really). It's a bonus if there's enough for a week tbh.

dementedpixie · 24/02/2020 07:56

Buy it yourself.

Sparklesocks · 24/02/2020 07:57

Most Airbnbs I’ve been to have only provided one or two rolls, so I tend to bring a couple extras to be safe.

Palavah · 24/02/2020 07:59

I think it's common for an Airbnb to only provide 1 or 2 rolls to keep you going until you can get to the shops, but you're expected to buy your own. It depends what was listed on 'amenities' under the property listing. Sometimes the same goes for soap, tea, coffee etc. Enough for one or two when you arrive but that's it.

velocitygirl7 · 24/02/2020 08:01

A roll a day!! Jeez, I hope you're buying recycled and planting a couple of trees every month! Grin
We always self cater and would expect a courtesy roll and then get our own.

user5656 · 24/02/2020 08:02

Check the listing to see if it's provided.

Clangus00 · 24/02/2020 08:04

Of course YABU. It’s self catering, BYO loo roll.

Sparklingbrook · 24/02/2020 08:06

I would expect a roll in each loo to start with but then supply my own after.

If it's nasty cheap stuff, replace immediately. Grin

Shoppingwithmother · 24/02/2020 08:08

I would say in self-catering the standard is one loo roll per loo is provided - after that, buy your own.

londonrach · 24/02/2020 08:08

Yabu..thats enough for one night. In self catering you buy your own roll. Never had it supplied apart from enough for one night.

Trogga · 24/02/2020 08:09

I think YANBU at it should be included for every day you're staying there.

I've stayed in a lot of AirBnBs, my thinking is, if they had a new guest check in every day they'd be replenishing it for each guest, and would stock a week's supply over that time.

Just because you're booked for, say, 7 nights, doesn't mean they shouldn't make sure there's a weeks' supply there for you.

JudyCoolibar · 24/02/2020 08:13

I've stayed in countless self-catering houses in my time, I don't think I've ever had more than one roll and a spare provided and I wouldn't expect any more.

Christmashope19 · 24/02/2020 08:16

I own two air bnbs and always leave enough for the time the guests are there
If it’s 7 nights I would leave between 5-7 rolls although I think I’m in the minority as when I have stayed at other air bnbs they generally leave 1 roll
It is self catering so just go and buy some

HeddaGarbled · 24/02/2020 08:16

Hotel: all toilet roll provided
Self catering: enough for first night provided, then buy your own

HavelockVetinari · 24/02/2020 08:17

Self catering means you have to buy your own loo roll, shampoo etc.

Springcleanish · 24/02/2020 08:19

It is self catering so the usual is enough for one night, and you need to buy your own.

itsabitofamess · 24/02/2020 08:20

The days of half a loo roll left are over. Unless you are in a budget place I would expect sufficient loo roll for my stay.

isabellerossignol · 24/02/2020 08:21

I've stayed in loads of air bnbs and holiday rentals and one toilet roll for each toilet in the house has always been the norm in my experience. Have never stayed anywhere that provided enough for the whole stay. But like how they often leave a pint of milk in the fridge, and a loaf in the kitchen - just something to see you through until you get to a shop.

BarbaraofSeville · 24/02/2020 08:25

Like everyone else, I always expect to need to buy some to last the rest of the week, after using up the initial roll or two, when self catering.

Anything more is a bonus, like the last time, where we booked a 2 bed villa (smallest available) for DP and I, but as it was out of season, we were upgraded to a 3 bed, that had three toilets and a roll or two in each, so it did last us all week. But seeing as it saved us all of a euro on a small pack of toilet roll, it's really neither here nor there.
