Hand holding @GoJetterGirl
I remember those times on the ward, the nights are the hardest. Everything is amplified.
Against the odds, my girl survived her cancer. Several of her friends didn't. She's now a funny, fearless, beautiful 12 year old. Some things like this thread bring the memories back so clearly like it was yesterday.
We are here for you, to give you strength, and love, and support.
I was pregnant just as my daughter was diagnosed. My youngest son was born whilst she was on treatment. Like your Gojetter, he has chocolate button eyes. He is 8, and he loves to tell stories too.
Are @GoJetterBoy's brown eyes mischievous? Do they twinkle when he's watching TV and imagining himself joining in an adventure?
That's really where he's going off to. Off with Ubercorn, exploring more geographical delights. But always knowing where you are. Because, you know, that's the best hope for us all as parents. To raise kids who have a secure and lovely nest, and a strong pair of wings to flee it.
Life is cruel and unfair to make you face that moment prematurely now. But you are, and will always be his amazing mummy. And wow, what a job you have and are doing!
Keep telling stories. And hugs. And just be with him.
It will be OK in the end. And if it is not OK, its not the end.
