Just that really

I don’t see the point in attacking someone on line.

I really don’t.

Surely we should just think before we post stuff.

Would we find it hurtful? If so. Don’t post.

Having lost one friend, and having several others with MH issues (one of whom has had a crisis this week), this pointless guff has really annoyed me.
I cracked and posted a rant yesterday, so that's probably killed off my social media cred now.

But I do wish people would think!

HandsOffMyRights · 22/02/2020 10:49

So glad I'm not on FB.
This sort of drivel is what made me leave.

NearlyGranny · 22/02/2020 10:50

Oh, and you can only tag 'beautiful' women, so if you friend left you out, you might be judged as no fun or just plain ugly. I see people claim to be doing this challenge for Flack - a little late, sadly - and there is the misogynistic suggestion that women are great at criticizing (sic) each other and tearing each other down. But hey, be kind, yeah?

Dreary, confused, virtue-signalling, pointless tosh. Ignore, ignore, delete.

lollybee1 · 22/02/2020 12:01

Don't think my friends and family are stupid enough to do this so I haven't seen it.

NearlyGranny · 22/02/2020 12:55

And, by the way, can anyone bring to mind anyone with MH issues who has ever been actually helped by a cheesy fb post? By any friend, family member or random?

If you want be supportive you need to be there, I reckon, not posting all over SM.

cheeseomelette · 24/02/2020 20:14

I snapped today and called someone out on it privately, they'd actually shared it to a women's wellbeing group they run, tagging about a fifth of the members. Why tag anyone? Just invite everyone to join in.

Of course it was next to the ubiquitous be kind post. Hmm

I was coming on to say that speaking as someone who is almost at the end of getting a dental implant because of a failed crown on my back tooth, I think you may be absolutely right :)

Facebook isn't good for anyone.

Nat6999 · 24/02/2020 20:24

It's as bad as the ice bucket challenge.

pallisers · 24/02/2020 20:35

the ice bucket challenge did raise money for medical research though.
