Worried about toddler DD (photos attached)

Good evening all.
Just at the point of trying to get to the bottom of what could be wrong with my little girl.

At the end of October she became increasingly unwell with lethargy, staring into space, not really doing anything apart from laying on the sofa, being sick and very pale with bags under her eyes.

We went into hospital on the 25th of November where they took bloods, did an MRI head, ultrasound abdo, chest x-ray and referred us to neurology due to the staring into space.

However, 16 weeks on and she is still very much the same - she just doesn’t have much ‘go’ in her, I worry so much that something has been missed as I feel she looks horrific most days.

AIBU to take her back to hospital and ask for more tests?

What a lovely little girl. I hope you get to the bottom of the problem and your beautiful DD feels a lot better soon.

Livebythecoast · 01/03/2020 19:42

What a little cutie.

So glad you've been referred and hope you get some answers soon and that your DD is okay Flowers

Ugzbugz · 01/03/2020 19:47

She is beautiful and her hair is amazing but I can definitely see how tired she looks, hope you get some answers soon.

ThickSock · 01/03/2020 19:49

So glad you have a referral. She is absolutely beautiful. Her eyes are sooooo huge but I see what you mean about the bags. I do think hope you soon get some answers and a plan of action.

HollowTalk · 01/03/2020 19:52

She's adorable. I hope you get the doctors to take it seriously and hope it's good news and she recovers quickly.

Flutteringsatlast · 01/03/2020 19:52

GaaaaarlicBread · 01/03/2020 19:57

OP thanks for sharing the photos again she is absolutely beautiful ! A little model !
I hope she gets some answers soon, such a worrying time xx

flossletsfloss · 01/03/2020 20:04

She's so gorgeous OP. A real stunner. My DS has quite a few food allergies (he's 4.5 now) and when he was younger he had bags under his eyes like that. When his allergies flare up her has them and bluey dark circles. You are doing the right thing OP. Best of luck. X

Star81 · 01/03/2020 20:17

Keep pushing until you get answers and ask questions. Make sure they know you will not go away until you know what’s wrong. Good luck

Potkettlexx · 01/03/2020 20:25

Has the photo of lo been removed? I was going to look under her eyes as my little one sometimes gets purple bags

billy1966 · 01/03/2020 20:33

What a little dote.
You poor thing OP, having all that worry.
I hope it gets resolved soon.

JintyandtheJs · 01/03/2020 20:44

Your wee girl is adorable! She is the image of a boy I know who has Williams syndrome. Maybe something to ask about?

SirVixofVixHall · 01/03/2020 21:23

Oh she is like a little fairy ! What a darling. I can see she has shadows under her eyes. I hope you have some answers soon and that she is back to normal asap.

cretelover · 01/03/2020 21:39

What an absolute beauty. I hope it's nothing serious and you get some answers soon x

ThickSock · 01/03/2020 22:11

Jinty from what OP says about her DDs language acquisition, spatial awareness and freehand drawing i have a feeling Williams Syndrome would be unlikely. Blood tests would probably have picked up raised calcium levels which is a common indicator. She does have a gorgeous elfin face so I can see what you mean but would be very surprised if that were to be her diagnosis. I think she would struggle with puzzles and drawing as the motor skills and spatial awareness required are often involved.

eaglejulesk · 04/03/2020 18:29

Best of luck - I hope you soon have some answers for your beautiful little girl. Flowers

Hi guys, we have been referred for a repeat MRI head under GA.

OP posts:
nicky7654 · 04/03/2020 21:20

Your little girl is beautiful! I think her forehead is totally normal and nothing to worry about. She is a bit dark around her eyes but fair skinned children can be (my daughter was but it did go by the age of 5 ish) I hope you find what's causing her tiredness bless her. You must be really worried! I am in no means educated regarding illnesses but has your daughter had any allergy tests? My daughter at 3 was very tired and turned out was a cow allergy also colourants and additives. Good luck to you all.

Toybox88 · 04/03/2020 22:26

When is her MRI? Good luck and I hope you get answers this time

mathanxiety · 05/03/2020 00:14

Good wishes for the test. GA is a bit unnerving. Flowers

Booboostwo · 05/03/2020 06:11

Good luck.

yourestandingonmyneck · 05/03/2020 10:59

Oh wow she really is a beautiful little girl. I can't see he lump on forehead that others have mentioned.

I hope you are doing ok and I hope you get to the bottom of it soon x

HoppingPavlova · 05/03/2020 11:21

Did the paed specify why they were on referring to rheumatology? What aspects have they flagged to the rheum?

minipie · 05/03/2020 12:02

Good luck OP. Are you under paediatrician care now - not just GP?

Also do you know exactly what blood tests have been run and what they were looking for. For example did they do blood tests to check generally for signs of allergies (eg elevated immune response can indicate allergy, or infection) - not just coeliac test?
