Good evening all.
Just at the point of trying to get to the bottom of what could be wrong with my little girl.

At the end of October she became increasingly unwell with lethargy, staring into space, not really doing anything apart from laying on the sofa, being sick and very pale with bags under her eyes.

We went into hospital on the 25th of November where they took bloods, did an MRI head, ultrasound abdo, chest x-ray and referred us to neurology due to the staring into space.

However, 16 weeks on and she is still very much the same - she just doesn’t have much ‘go’ in her, I worry so much that something has been missed as I feel she looks horrific most days.

AIBU to take her back to hospital and ask for more tests?

I can’t see the pictures either OP, have you had them removed ?
Do you know what her thyroid levels were? Because a “normal” result can debatable.

FREEM · 19/02/2020 20:17

Hope she's ok. Agree 're second opinion

whatisheupto · 19/02/2020 20:35

Record some video of her when she's having an absence, and when she's being particularly lethargic. Then show it to all the doctors you see.

Also make sure you see different GPs, not the ones who have fobbed you off.

Alpacamabags · 19/02/2020 21:11

Please trust your instincts. Go back x

Lostchocs · 19/02/2020 21:26

I can’t see the pics so can’t comment about how she looks, but I was wondering if they tested her cortisol levels? If not, please ask for this test. Her adrenal glands may not be working.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 19/02/2020 21:38

Also cant see any pics but second what PP was saying about her heart. Has she had any specific scans on her chest?

managedmis · 20/02/2020 00:55

I saw the photos yesterday but they are not there now

PointlessUsername · 20/02/2020 01:21

Hope you get some answers soon x

VenusTiger · 20/02/2020 02:23

Didn't want to read and run OP, and there's so much advice here already, just wanted to wish you and your DD well. Hope you can give us all a positive update soon Flowers

GloGirl · 20/02/2020 20:17

Any update today? @DreamALittleDreamofMe

Hope you are getting seen again OP.

Kablam · 22/02/2020 05:05

image?

MrsP2015 · 22/02/2020 06:44

I think the pictures have probably been removed by op.

I expect it's extremely difficult hearing so many people commenting on your precious baby looking poorly.

Regardless of her looking tired op she looks such a beautiful little princess x

dssonne · 22/02/2020 06:50

Hope all is well op. It's very frustrating when you know something isn't right but no one will listen.

MayorPrentiss · 22/02/2020 06:55

I missed the pictures OP but I'm so sorry your little girl is poorly. Having to fight to get your child's illness diagnosed when you're out of your mind with worry is just the most exhausting and shattering experience. Another thing to consider might be sleep apnea - is she often bunged up and snotty? This can mean they get no quality sleep at night so although they seem to sleep a lot, they actually get very little rest. Huge tonsils and gluey sinuses can also really affect appetite. Not sure that would explain a lump on the forehead though.

Definitely keep going back, your instincts are strong, don't let them dismiss you. Really hope you get a solution soon.

MyOtherProfile · 22/02/2020 06:56

How old is your little girl? Please do push and push and record evidence to show everyone you can.

GaaaaarlicBread · 22/02/2020 07:02

I can’t see any photos but interested to see them, but either way keep pushing OP you know your child better than any dr and don’t let them keep you waiting , keep fighting to be seen and get more answers xx

scatteredglitter · 22/02/2020 18:51

How is your dd now? I hope you managed to get a paed appointment and get some investigations. If it turns out to be nothing then it s great, if it s something then at least you are acting on it ASAP.
Thinking of you and your family

DreamALittleDreamofMe · 01/03/2020 18:33

Thank you so much for all of your lovely responses. The lovely paed has now referred DD to Rheumatology for further tests. Xx

She's absolutely gorgeous but the bags do look unusual. I hope you get some answers soon and she's back to tearing round like a whirlwind x
