Parking Woes. With Photo. Is this CF?

The red car is at least half of its length over the dropped curb. We can just about get our car in and out and as you can see bit at angle. It is one of our neighbours but we dont know which house number. It is one of the six along from us.

Is this CFery parking or am I sweating the small stuff? I dont want any of the other neighbours thinking we are ok with kind of parking which is why I think we should nip it in the bud before it becomes accepted habit. They are relatively new neighbours (about 6 months) and this is the first time they have done it.

Usually we know which neighbour and the house they live in so we can ask them to move if we need to but this could be about every 3 months and normally it is because they are loading or unloading so move quickly enough.

Am I being unreasonable leaving a note on their car telling them to not block the dropped kerb again?

Are you in A metro area with parking enforcement? If so, call them to ticket the car.

Or so the door knock. What happens if that car is still there when you need to get out and with other cars parked properly and the owner is at work or out? Definitely better to deal with it now. You will also know who it is for next time. I have never had a note work, but a conversation usually does.

Good luck.

I called the council once when someone did that to us. They wrote them a lovely ticket and I felt smug of about an hour.

Until I realised it was our opposite neighbour... oops.

WiltedDaffs · 16/02/2020 17:59

Some towns have parking enforcement who could come out and slap a ticket on that.

I frequently get people overhanging my drive, never usually to that extent but I have left notes on a few who are so far over the drop kerb it’s difficult to get in/out. Don’t see why I should I struggle to use my car when I need it because of someone who couldn’t be arsed to park further away and walk.

The car is on the other side of the road / lane to your drive isn't it? I guess that is why they think it's ok. I would start with a polite note saying its blocking you and go from there.

dementedpixie · 16/02/2020 18:40

OP already said it's on her side of the road. Its bumped up on the dropped kerb right at the end of her drive

Jaxhog · 16/02/2020 19:18

Parking across a dropped curb is ILLEGAL! It isn't about 'leaving enough room' to get out! A polite but firm note is the least they deserve. But make a note of their number in case they do it again. And, if they do, report them to the police.

Notyetthere · 16/02/2020 19:35

Wrote the note but then I was struck with the fear. Gah, why am I such a coward. Anyway, decided to do bath time and that if it was still there I would put on the note. it was gone. It had been there from sometime last night so practically all day.

Oh well, I will definitely leave a note next time she does it.

It must be the angle of the photo but it was parked on our side of the road. Not across on the other side.

If you can't get out of your driveway you're technically imprisoned and you can call the police. I've done this and they moved the person by tracking them down and calling them. They couldn't come running fast enough and never parked there again!
