I'd go, saw a UFO many years ago and always like to hear about others' experiences.
Two stand out in my mind ...
One, aged about 8, just before school. We were all in the playground when there was a sort of rush as kids ran to the edge of the school playing field (which was forbidden - hence it sticks) to a wirer fence which overlooked a large field. We all clearly saw something cylinder like about the size of a merry go round with lights, spinning. If it had been summer (it wasn't) we would have dismissed it as being one of the rides that used to form part of a travelling fair that camped on that field once a year. But it was not summer, and not a single kid ever thought it was a merry go round. As the teachers started coming for us and we looked round, it was gone.
No idea what it was to this day. However, we didn't live that far from RAF Northolt, and there were forever odd things going on. So it's not necessarily inexplicable. Just inexplicable to me at that age.
The second was (again ?) early morning, in Smethwick (West Midlands). I had just parked up to go into the office, and something caught my eye in the sky. It could have been a plane - it was a very bright shiny light, like when a plane is coming directly at you. However whatever this was went left to right until it was out of sight in about 4 or five seconds in complete silence. Again, no idea what it was. If it was as far away as I gauged (10, 15 miles ?) then to cross the 50 or so miles created by the sweep of my vision means it must have been doing something of the order of 35,000 mph. Horizontally, so not a meteor(ite) (which I have seen).
Of course there are countless meteorological phenomena - some as yet undocumented and unexplained - which might be the answer. On balance I'd accept that over little green men.
Neither incident has traumatised me
. But I start from the point of view that if you actually paid for the job your senses do interpreting reality, you'd probably want a refund before too long ...
