To think this customer service rep is taking the piss?

I had a connecting train ticket with one minute inbetween (Trainline booked) to Manchester Piccadilly.

I missed it as mine was late and I contacted them on twitter and the response I got was - it was never a connecting ticket anyway and I was actually expected to walk from Manchester Oxford Road to Piccadilly.

Where are you trying to get to?

malmi · 13/02/2020 20:31

There are actually trains between Piccadilly and Victoria which you may have been able to use the ticket on but never mind

trianglular · 13/02/2020 21:14

I presume the one minute change is because it says the train ends at 12:37, and then she gets on the ‘train’ to Victoria at 12:37 too.

Journey 'one' ends at 12:37

Journey 'two' starts at 12:37

OP has misunderstood her booking.

CrohnicallyEarly · 13/02/2020 21:43

Yes @trianglular and you misunderstood my point... someone was asking where the one minute change came into it, and I was explaining (or trying to) where the OP got the one minute change from. That’s why the second train was in ‘ ‘ marks, I knew from the thread it wasn’t a train but the OP thought it was.

trianglular · 13/02/2020 21:44

I didn't misunderstand your point. I was agreeing with you.

TheMemoryLingers · 13/02/2020 21:45

Your 'transfer' isn't part of your network rail journey. You can walk (about 10 mins) from Man Picc to Man Vic or if you have luggage or can't walk for another reason, you can get a tram between the two stations, but you'd need a separate tram ticket - I think it costs about £1.70. You haven't said where your ultimate destination is - if you're catching another train at Piccadilly the transfer time of 32 mins between the two stations is ample.

bridgetreilly · 13/02/2020 22:22

Anyway, it is now clear that the customer service rep was quite correct.

shinyredbus · 13/02/2020 22:26

Jesus wept - try bloody explaining your issue properly before getting annoyed that people are misunderstanding.

YABU - you didn’t read the ticket properly. This is on you I’m afraid. Sorry.

fairynick · 13/02/2020 22:35

Doors shut 40 seconds before departure. If everything was running on time you gave yourself 20 seconds to get from train to another? And you’re angry at customer service for that? God I’m so glad I don’t work in customer service anymore.

CatMamma · 13/02/2020 22:36

With every train ticket to Manchester, you get free travel on trams within the city centre - you could have hopped on a free tram and been at the other station within a couple of minutes.

StealthPolarBear · 13/02/2020 22:40

The picture on the ticket is little feet walking I thibk

TheMemoryLingers · 13/02/2020 22:42

Only if you're travelling into the city from within Greater Manchester, CatMamma
