...to have a little nap in the work toilets?

I am at work and so tired (ds woke at 4.30 ffs!). I am not officially on work time - my working day is over and I am staying around to do some catching up as I am going out tonight with old friend so no time to go home first plus would disrupt dh doing dinner for kids etc. There are no empty offices. The staff room has armchairs but I would be embarrassed to be caught snoring by colleagues. Only room where I could feasibly have half hour power nap in on one of the very spacious toilet cubicles. There are plenty so I wouldn't be blocking anyone from using loo. They are pretty clean too.

I’d rather do it in the car or the frosted glass lockable meeting rooms Grin

God I wish I could sleep so easily and nap on the toilet! I am however partial to a few games of candy crush in the toilets at work on particularly slow afternoons

When I was a student I used to work in a furniture shop. I used to lock up the shop at lunch time and go to sleep in the display bed Grin

That diagram!! Ha ha amazing!! Grin

I sit at the table in the office as I work alone and sleep with my head in on the desk for my 30 min break

I used to work as a chambermaid in a four star hotel when I was a student. Hung over basically every shift. Start at 7, blast through 7 rooms in three hours, have a two hour nap on a four poster, do the remaining four rooms in two hours. Great days,

iswhois · 12/02/2020 23:03

I have done this in the storage area behind the printer before

MrTumblePulledAKnifeOnMe · 12/02/2020 23:08

I've done it loads of times. I once broke the broke the toilet seat whilst napping. That promptly woke me up Grin

I used to sleep at my desk after lunch. My screen couldn’t be seen by anyone else and I didn’t like any of the other staff so no one talked to me.
I would rest my head on my hand and hold a pen in the other so it looked like I was writing.

Pieceofpurplesky · 12/02/2020 23:16

I really couldn't sleep on the floor in a toilet as I would just think about drips and flicks and dribbles

Shortfeet · 12/02/2020 23:18

Wow. I’m impressed

Orchidflower1 · 13/02/2020 19:44

@Apocketfulofposies loving the diagram!

DinoGreen · 13/02/2020 20:14

The diagram is amazing!

I’d also feel a bit icky about sleeping on a toilet floor though. My coat is dry clean only so I wouldn’t sleep on that - maybe if I had a washable anorak!

Having said that, I did once fall asleep on the floor of a pub toilet in Camberwell. A lot of alcohol had been drunk though. Not my finest hour.

KenzoBaby · 13/02/2020 20:16

I did this in a disabled toilet at work years ago when I had a really bad hangover. I can still remember the lovely, cool, white tiled floor.

Shinyletsbebadguys · 13/02/2020 20:18

I did this quite often when DC were newborns and basically refused to sleep for the first 2 years of their life.

My role meant I never got a lunch hour, often had to work late so it was a life saver

ultrablue · 13/02/2020 20:25

I used to fall asleep when pregnant with my first I had an expensive daily task to do where I went into an empty office to be undisturbed. Fell asleep through it every bloody day for 8 months woke up every time in a panic as to whether it had been completed haha

ultrablue · 13/02/2020 20:29

My manager told me a couple of weeks ago that a lot of staff in our store go off for a sleep in the toilet during their shift.. urgh our toilets are minging

Thurmanmurman · 13/02/2020 23:39

I used to do this all the time when pregnant. A bog kip I called it!
