Dr White's looped sanitary towels

I didn't know these were still a thing!
DM used to buy these for me when I first started my periods in the 70s.
Saw some today on the shelf in my local chemist while I was hanging around waiting for my prescription to be dispensed.
I was tempted to buy some: remember them being so soft and comfortable .Didn't see any of those belts to wear with them, though.
Set me wondering: does anyone use looped towels these days?
Must be a market for them if they're on sale.

If you want looped ones now you would need to use ebay. They can ve got from Malaysia in 3 to 5 working days, called Sannap.

The incinerators! When I started teaching in the early 80’s there were a group of (terrifying) ‘ 5th’ year girls who frequented the playground toilets during breaks and lunchtimes. One of the first times I did playground break duty, I found them toasting their sandwiches over the incinerator … they refused to go out until they had finished. I never ventured in there alone after that …

In the 70s DH moved to a job as a sales rep with Kimberly Clark, selling Kleenex and Kotex products to the retail trade. He only moved as he got a company car, and we were struggling to afford to buy a decent car. They sold a looped towel (and belt) but the newer, better selling products were 'stuck on" towels. Simplicity, and Sylphs. His area covered East Anglia, and lots of Co=ops and chemist's in small villages. Even then, after the swinging 60s, many shops kept "STs" under the counter, and brought them out in a paper bag. He had to persuade them to get them out on open display on the supermarket shelves. Dr Whites were a big competitor which were on their way out as the more modern products came in. A common comment when the reps introduced the modern stick on towels was 'Stick on? Doesn't it hurt when you take them off?" He had 10 really good years with KC and only left to go self employed. Happy days.
