To ask what you really think happens when you die?

I’d describe myself as agnostic. I’d like to think God exists, and heaven exists but logically I think it’s probably unlikely.

My grandads mum died this week, she was asleep really for her final days, and in the run up to her death she’s been quiet, and not really present, however, the second before she died, she opened her eyes, smiled (her face in all honestly wall almost glowing with joy) and shouted ‘Mama, Mama’ and then she died.

I’d love to think her mum came to get her and take her to heaven or an afterlife but the logics part tells me it was probably something neurological. Might ignore my logical side though because I like the other possibility better!

Lots of children remember pre birth though. Then the memory fades.

Do they? How do you know?

Remmy123 · 10/02/2020 16:21

Same as what happens before you are born

I take a big interest in it RedHelen, so I’ve read a lot, also seen a few documentaries about kids who have memories of past lives, who give accounts that can’t be explained away.

Animals were 'created for out enjoyment? Hmm what about the wolves they evolved from, were they put on earth just to please humans too?

restawhile77 · 10/02/2020 22:54

No you’ve misunderstood me. I didn’t say animals in general, I said “certain animals were created for our enjoyment”. The domestic dogs we have now have evolved from wolves, so yes God created wolves to evolve.....we certainly get enjoyment from our dogs, cats, horses or whatever. Why would God bother creating us if we weren’t to have any joy. My dog brings me joy, and he gets joy from me.

I’m not sure exactly what I believe, I used to be a nurse and used to prepare people who had died. We always made sure we talked to them and told them what we were doing and opened the window to let their spirit out.

After my Granny and Grandpa had both died, I had a dream that I was at their house looking out the landing window and they were both stood by the brick wall in the garden looking far younger than I ever remembered them. They looked at me and smiled and waved. It was like they had come to say one last goodbye, that they had found each other again and were free from the physical ailments that they had had. It was lovely.

I was holding my nans hand when she died, the moment she died the mattress sort of lifted. Like a weight had left her bed. I thought it was her soul leaving. I 100% believe in something, but I don’t know what. Ive had a few weird experiences, one being that we had birthday candles in the cupboard. They were the ones that made the tune ‘happy birthday’ they had been in a Tupperware box, completely untouched for years and on my dads birthday they started playing. Maybe a coincidence but I like to think it’s a sign.

I believe in something- my dad had a NDE several years ago. It turned him from an atheist into believing about God.

Me? I believe in something after this life. I’m too chicken not to.
