I love smoking but really wish I could stop. I enjoy every cigarette but know I need to stop

I love it too. I still enjoy the odd sneaky one now & again. For me it was a great stress reliever & I know they say in the long term it makes you more anxious but I never found that.

I have smoked in 4 years but love smoking. Love it. Miss it!

I'm not a smoker. I sometimes have some of DH vape if I'm drinking. On a holiday recently without him I had my first (second third and forth!) Cigarette ever because I didnt have a vape. I did enjoy it but nicotine really hits me - I couldn't be a smoker as I wiuldnt be able to drive with it!

I don’t smoke anymore but I miss it sometimes.

I loved that it gave me a regular break

I love smoking. I only smoke when I’m out having a drink, or occasionally if I see a particular friend for coffee these days, but I always love it.

I would hope that someone telling it like it is, that the first hit with a fag feels great, must be deleted- recognises that that is a form of censorship. I believe that first hit does feel amazing, otherwise thousands, if not millions- wouldn't do it.

I imagine the first sort of coke feels great, too. Or the numbness of alcohol. Or the invincibility of speed.

Shutting down debate and discussion of that reality, is sort of censorship.

We humans have always sought 'highs'. The vast majority have harmful side-effects.

It's just that smoking has very bad press.

Alcohol hasn't caught up, yet.

However, they're both legal and make ££££ for us.

FTR, I don't smoke, but I do drink. That stiff Pinot at 6.30pm after work won't be replaced by a 10k run.

I looooved smoking so much. It was practically the best thing in my life at one point. And I smoked for almost 20 years. That first blissful drag in the morning, sitting with a coffee on a sunny step in the garden. The camaraderie outside workplaces in London, making new friends, lighting up each other’s cigarettes. Smoking late into the night, smoking stresses away, lazy cigarettes while reading a book, stretched out across the lawn..,

Have to say though, eventually I quit and now I love NOT smoking even more than I loved smoking. I ran a marathon in under 4 hours! I felt like a gazelle! Not smoking, I feel so much more vibrant and alive.

But I did love smoking, there’s no denying it.

Yes, I do. I mean, I'm not stupid enough but to realise I am thoroughly addicted to nicotine, but I do genuinely enjoy smoking. I always did, I think that's my problem. Our first smoke as kids, my friends were getting dizzy and nauseous and I was having a "come to mama" moment.

My dad has been hospitalised twice for copd recently and is quitting his 56 year smoking habit so I have bought a soddibg vape to make the switch. But resentfully and grumpily.
