I am a child of the 70's and I loved 'mix-ups' - small paper bags of premixed penny (and halfpenny!) sweets. If I was choosing my own I would always get fizzle sticks and cola bottles. But I had a special love for fizzle sticks! I wish you could get them still.
As a more expensive treat I also loved the milk tray chocolate bar, frys 5 centers and my Irish grandad had another one I LOVED called Two and Two Bar by Irish company Urney, it was deeeeeeelicious!
He also loved callard and bowser butter scotch, bournville chocolate, jamacian rum chocolate and iced caramel Pink & White sweets
In the summer time I loved Dracula Ice pops (black outside and red jelly centre) or JR Pops - orange and red came out after JR Ewing was shot
I KNOW they were a thing but I can't find a picture of them, They were red and orange coloured ice pops
As very small child I loved pink panther bars too
I also loved vesta chicken curry, boil in the bag. The first 'exotic' food I tasted and made such a welcome change from the tyranny of my mother's meat and 2 veg.
As a teen I loved Tea-Time Express cakes in my grandparents house, especially the chocolate layered cake or the coffee one - wish I could still have them
In my 20's I adored the M&S vacuum packed 'brunch in a box' - called something like egg and bacon hash. They didn't need a fridge! I kept them in my flat for emergency weekend morning hangovers and they were delicious, I wish they still made them!
I was fond of a peppermint patty, weekend chocolates, dairy box chocolates - my mother loved boxes of chocolates and was often given them by my father and we loved the thrill of opening them to see all the very tempting sweets laid out. I especially loved the fruit flavoured ones.
I miss the treats of my past
