to be worried about a hangover?

Expecting AIBU but last night I went for drinks with friends. Probably had close to a whole bottle of prosecco. I don't drink very often and I have a fairly small build. Me and friend decided to visit local takeaway on our way back home. There were no chips left but just chicken kebab meat and sausage.

Today is probably the illest I've been in my life. I'm actually quite worried. I've been sick over 50 times and can't even keep a small sip of water down me. This started at 7am and I am still being sick now.

Would it be unreasonable for me to seek medical help tomorrow if this persists? I'm so dehydrated and can't even bear drinking water as it just comes straight back up.

Too much alcohol always makes me throw up. Wine is the worst for me still. Only good thing is it’s impossible for me to get blind drunk and forget stuff as I start vomiting way before I get to that stage.

I was so sick a few years ago that I barely drink these days. Just the thought of that night makes me feel queasy. I’ve also not eaten Mexican since since the memory and taste of projectile vomiting taco mince has never left me Shock

Agree with the others saying sounds like food poisoning

worriedd1 · 02/02/2020 13:23

I’ve had this a few times before. A bottle of Prosecco would probably make me puke but not 50 odd times . Could be the food . Get well soon .

I've always been left to believe that food poisoning takes a little while to kick in? I had a similar hangover last week and wouldnt work yourself up too much unless it persists.

FrogsFrogs · 02/02/2020 14:03

When I've had good poisoning it's kicked in a few hours after I ate, 2am seems to be popular Hmm

Make up the diahoralite double strength and sip it , tiny little sips every couple of minutes - will help it to be absorbed

Make up the diahoralite double strength and sip it

Unless you have been told to do this by a medical professional who has judged that this is appropriate in your situation, that isn’t something you should routinely do and could make the dehydration worse.

Glad you’re feeling a bit better today OP!

HeadachesByTheDozen · 02/02/2020 16:56

@WarrenNicole Did you have frequent diarrhoea as well? What the OP is describing is two-end sickness. I've had food poisoning 3 times in my life. It was always a struggle to figure out which end to hover over the bowl. What she is describing is not a mere hangover. Also her friend who ate the same food, had the same symptoms.

HeadachesByTheDozen · 02/02/2020 16:59

@Poorolddaddypig She had the iced lollies almost 24 hours after she had drank. So, obviously not a hangover, they don't last that long.

WarrenNicole · 02/02/2020 17:21

@HeadachesByTheDozen, believe me, what I was describing was not a “mere hangover”. It was alcohol poisoning. And yes I had diarrhoea. It’s also a symptom.

I too have had food poisoning around 3/4 times in my life so I know the difference.
