That she is a rude entitled bitch and needs to learn to fucking queue like a human being, not shove her way to the front of the (long boring massive) tailback we were stuck in. Oh, and the reason my car has a scrape up the side is a thing like you doing exactly what you just did, so take your aggressive driving and FUCK OFF.

😂😂

happyhappyme · 01/02/2020 17:11

@MrsSilverVWGolf Grin

So where were you going that you were in such a hurry? Enquiring minds need to know.

MrsSilverVWGolf · 01/02/2020 17:14

@happyhappyme
I was going to the body shop to get my paintwork touched up.

JinglingHellsBells · 01/02/2020 17:15

Oh thank god @MrsSilverVWGolf has seen this thread.

What was it you needed so fast?

A wee
A coffee
A date with a gorgeous man
Or anything else....

JinglingHellsBells · 01/02/2020 17:16

I was going to the body shop to get my paintwork touched up.

Oooh you naughty girl!

I've never heard it called that before, but now you mention it.....

TheTrollFairy · 01/02/2020 17:19

They usually have cameras in bus lanes so hopefully she’ll get a ticket!

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 01/02/2020 17:20

If she wants to take the risk of being arrested or getting points it’s up to her. My dh was recently fined for driving a bus lane (he insists he didn’t realise at first and then got out of it when he did) - there are cctv cameras all over the show.
Calm down - you’ll give yourself a coronary!

CallMeOnMyCell · 01/02/2020 17:20

It is very annoying when drivers do this but just forget about it and move on. Posts like this on here (and Facebook) are just silly.

EvilPea · 01/02/2020 17:20

Lanes aren’t always zip merge. It’s like motorways where one lane goes off, that’s not zip merging. That’s one lane being for that junction and the arseholes who sweep across at the last minute are lucky they do t cause an awful accident.

MintyMabel · 01/02/2020 17:31

If someone hit you coming in to a queue and you didn’t yield, your driving is equally aggressive.

Calm down, it isn’t worth getting worked up about, you still got where you were going.

MintyMabel · 01/02/2020 17:35

The person merging doesn't have right of way, if they scratch your car while merging it is absolutely their fault!

If there is a gap and you speed up to close it when you see someone going in to it (which is usually what happens) then it is your fault.

maddiemookins16mum · 01/02/2020 17:52

Argghhh, these are the sort of posts you see on Spotted Maidenhead, utterly pointless, she.is.not.reading.this.

HereBeFuckery · 01/02/2020 18:04

@crustycrab
'She'll get a ticket/get caught and end up paying for her lack of patience. As have you, evidenced by the scratch down the side of your car.'
Sorry, what? I was queueing patiently (on a different occasion) and some twat drives up the inside and scrapes my passenger side in THEIR hurry to fucking ignore the basic tenets of Not Being a Cunt and it's my just desserts? How do you figure that out?

OP posts:
HereBeFuckery · 01/02/2020 18:09

@JinglingHellsBells

  • However, you really really need to calm down a bit.

How long have you been driving, out of interest?*

Why? If we all just 'calm down' about the erosion of the social contract (ie the mutual agreement that we all show respect and observe boundaries and don't take the piss) then it will erode entirely. It's not okay to see a queue and think 'ha, not for me, see ya later suckers'. It's just not.

I've been driving twelve years, not that it makes any difference. Never had a ticket, points or anything like that. Mainly because I actually obey the rules.

Nojeansplease · 01/02/2020 18:16

Op why are you so angry

I suggest meditation

summervines · 01/02/2020 18:22

Do they do waxing as well?

NoooorthonerMum · 01/02/2020 19:58

@MintyMabel

Your comment is such rubbish! You should retake your theory test. When merging it is 100% your responsibility to find a gap and fit your car into it. If no gap exists you have to wait. A considerate driver will let you in but they are not required to do this. Some drivers simply indicate and pull into the lane and expect drivers already in that lane to take evasive action. This would fail a driving test and is 100% the incorrect way to drive. Of course most drivers will try to avoid an accident that doesn't mean it's OK to ignore the rules of the road and expect other cars to accommodate you.

In 25 years of accident free driving, I have never once seen a car pull in where there was no gap. I have often seen cars pull in where there is a gap and cars speed up to close it, or are not paying attention to what is going on around them. The safest course of action when slow moving queuing on a motorway is to be aware that cars will be merging (whether you think they should or not) and when you see it happening to increase the gap between you and the car in front. Defensive driving is as much part of being a good driver as anything else you do. Unfortunately too many think as long as they are following the rules, if someone else causes an accident it has nothing to do with them.

I’ve no need to re-take any test, as my IAM certificate is a pretty good indicator that I know what I’m doing on the road. The three yearly safe driving courses I have to do for work indicate the same.

PitterPatterOfBigFeet · 01/02/2020 22:04

@MintyMabel

Are you joking? I see this all the time (admittedly not as much as you see it in Italy). Not only do drivers barge off the slip road into the left hand lane they sometimes try to barge all the way to third lane in one go regardless of cars in their way. I genuinely don't believe you haven't seen it. Big lorries are the worst for this, but I've seen other cars indicate and then switch lanes immediately without bothering to match their speed to the cars in the lane they're entering so the car behind has had to slam on the break. If you don't see it maybe you're used to it because it's how you drive because it's very bloody common.

MintyMabel · 02/02/2020 01:10

Don’t be a twat, of course I’m not doing it.

I don’t see it happening despite driving thousands of motorway miles a year. It isn’t happening to me because I read the road ahead. But despite that, I have never seen a car try to move into a lane where there is not space for it to do so. The space may be small, but it is there.

If traffic is having to barge it’s way off a slip road, the traffic already on the road is failing to read the road ahead and make appropriate space to allow it to merge - which is what they should be doing. If on-merging traffic has to stop on a slip road, the motorway will grind to a halt. If lorries are having to barge on in front of you, you’re a shit driver.

GlummyMcGlummerson · 02/02/2020 01:23

This thread has had me proper belly laughing, not because of the OP but the response, especially this which had me cackling for a good 10 minutes

I was going to the body shop to get my paintwork touched up.

Oooh you naughty girl!

Reminds me of the old Mumsnet days

BohoBunney · 02/02/2020 01:29

This is why all bus lanes and red lights should have cameras on them.

You do need to calm down though. If you get this worked up and stay this worked up about a cf most people witness on a daily basis you’ll blow a gasket!
