Newly dating... been on a few dates, he seems keen, going well, been talking for a while.
He asked me what sort of clothes I like to wear.. and do I wear skirts.

So he's met me a few times so he has seen what I wear... is this a hint he likes skirts?! I dunno why but I found this a turn off. Maybe I'm being too sensitive, probably am as my relationship before this a few years ago was an abusive one. I just feel like it means he likes a certain type of look!!

I didn't like it anyway so haven't replied. Am I being over sensitive? Be honest I want honest opinions.

On a more serious note, the words themselves could mean anything but what's more important is how you felt when it was asked. You know how the convo was going/not and how it came across but if you felt something not right by it, you should follow your gut.

I think you should have answered with
Why do you want to borrow one

FinallyHere · 31/01/2020 20:56

"Want to borrow one" 😃

Fair enough if he is dressed up in jacket and tie but if genus in jeans too.. WTF ?

It makes me think that he isn't into you, he just wants a girlfriend, and she has to look a certain way to match the picture in his head.

My friend met an insufferable cockmunch like that online too op. Within a week he was telling ME, her friend, that his ex used to really dress up and wore low cut tops with a leather mini skirt so he didn’t want my friend dressing the way she did (tshirt and jeans/trousers) ... she married him Sad Don’t be my friend op. You are absolutely the same person within no matter what you wear.
