How much water do you drink per day?

I’ve just used this calculator to determine how much water I need to drink every day for my weight and it says 3.7 litres. Does this sound about right or excessive? I’m 5ft 6 and 12 and half stone.
I’ve been drinking 2 litres per day and thought I was doing well with that! I feel like I’d never be off the toilet if I drank more than that

If I go to the gym (3-4 pw), I drink about a litre.

Otherwise, none.

I drink about 2 black teas and too much pepsi max.

My urine is pale straw coloured, my skin is good; I don't think I'm dehydrated.

Please, everyone, read the post by steppemum upthread. This is what you need to know.

steppemum speaks sense. This obsession with drinking water has irritated me for years.

I am hydrated. If I drink more water, all that happens is I am pissing every 15 minutes. Annoying.

I drink quite a bit...

A pint of water and cup of tea before breakfast
Coffee mid morning
A litre of water throughout the day
Two coffees in the afternoon
Two more pints of water when I get home
Coffee before bed

And a bottle of water if I'm in the gym.

So glad Steppemum posted, i dont drink any water this time of year, but plenty of hot drinks (not coffee) so phew..

PurpleDaisies · 29/01/2020 22:57

The “drink more water” as an answer to basically any problem is unscientific nonsense. I drink a lot of coffee and squash, but I don’t bother counting. If I was dehydrated I’d know by thirst and urine.

I drink zero actual water. I don't like it.
I drink 4 cups of tea a day and about 4 glasses of orange squash. I don't feel particularly healthy and definitely should drink more
