I pay between £160 - £240 per month on wraparound care for my 2 primary aged children. (Breakfast / after school)
£120 pw holiday care.

AIBU to ask what you pay?

1 breakfast and 3 after school clubs = £39 a week.

Holiday care £50 a day for two (13yr old is better off doing sport than being at home alone). I hate school holidays.

MrsPworkingmummy · 28/01/2020 20:43

I used to pay £20 a day. DD dropped off at 7.45 and collected by 4.30. We've moved to a cheaper area and her breakfast club costs £1 daily and evening care is £2.50 until 5, so only £3.50 a day. My baby is with a childminder and I pay £35 a day.

Mummyshark2018 · 28/01/2020 20:43

About 160 a term for 2 sessions of wraparound per week

Qasd · 28/01/2020 20:43

£15 a day (£5 breakfast club, £10 after school) that will give you 8-6 care.

TheReef · 28/01/2020 20:44

I used to pay £800 per month

survivingdad · 28/01/2020 20:45

£1 breakfast club I'm moving to your area 🤣

In our area it’s £20 per child per day - £5 for breakfast club from 7.30am and then £15 for after school club until 6pm.

Murraygoldberg · 28/01/2020 20:49

I pay £250 a month for one child, this is for after school childminder and holidays, I pay the same each month which suits both me and cm. School has free breakfast club which is great.

Meeda · 28/01/2020 20:50

We used to pay around £11 per day for wraparound care but she got breakfast and a "light tea" for that (I put that in inverted commas as that what was advertised but it was a decent portion and, more often than not, enough for her evening meal).

Rinoachicken · 28/01/2020 20:56

£450 a month for x2 kids after school childminder x4 a week. It cripples me every month but no other option.

Used to do breakfast club £25pw for them both, but had to stop that as couldn’t afford it. Managed to adjust my working hours to start a bit later instead.

sleepylittlebunnies · 28/01/2020 21:10

I don’t pay anything term time. I work 2 nights a week; at least 2 Friday and Saturday nights a month so DH is here. Week day nights DM or DPIL cover the bit between DH leaving and me getting back; DS12 has a lift to school regardless and I take and collect DDs and sleep in between. Study days often start at 08.00/08.30 and can finish after school but my neighbour will help out as I regularly help her too.

If it’s half term I usually work the weekend or use annual leave. Easter holidays I will use AL and/or work bank holidays. The summer holidays I pay for holiday club for DDs 8&10 and request to work those nights so I sleep while they’re out. We have 2 or 3 weeks family holiday and DM and DPIL will cover a week each and I’ll work a weekend so not needing too much. DS12 has ASD and prefers to stay at home while I sleep; he can wake me if needed but doesn’t tend to. I couldn’t leave him all day in the house alone though. DH covers the Christmas holidays.

sleepylittlebunnies · 28/01/2020 21:14

DN’s school have free breakfast club, they just pay small amounts for food eg toast 20p. They have free clubs until 4.30 then only pay for after school care from 4.30 until 6.00 for £4.50.

ThatThereWoman · 28/01/2020 21:14

It's £10 a day afterschool club for one child. She doesn't go every day - maybe 2-3 days a week.

cojmum · 28/01/2020 21:16

£15 per week for one child in after school club
£75 per week during holidays, I work 30 hours per week

IamChipmunk · 28/01/2020 21:17

My DC only has 1 hour after school club so it's only £3 per day

Appletreehouse · 28/01/2020 21:22

Breakfast club £4.50 a day, after school club £8.50 until 5.15PM or £10 until 6PM. Holiday club on site run by external partner company £20 a day for 9-5p.m. accepts childcare vouchers so we save on overall costs

Cremebrule · 28/01/2020 21:22

I’ve been looking at costs for when my child starts school in September and it is 12.50 for the aftercjook club and £4 for breakfast so yours seems quite reasonable depending on how many days you’re covering. Holiday clubs vary from £30-50 per day. I have no idea yet what the different in price means in terms of experience.

mayandjuniper · 28/01/2020 21:28

£220-280 depending on how the month works out with term days etc. That's three lots of after school care for two kids. Breakfast club is free.

myfavouriterain · 28/01/2020 21:28

£10 per school day on 1 child, so £160-200
Then clubs so maybe £20/week on those off you count as childcare, so as £80-100, or £2 40-300 total

blibblibs · 28/01/2020 21:29

£60pw for after school care for one DC. That's from 3.30 - 6pm. Thankfully it only started in January and stops in July especially since I currently get paid £3.90ph. No idea what I'll do with a Y7 & Y8 next year since no one round here seems to take high school children 😔

CountFosco · 28/01/2020 21:29

After school care once a week for 2DC £105pcm. Holiday sportclub for 3DC £52 per day (holiday club goes up to 14).

PurpleCrazyHorse · 28/01/2020 21:33

We pay about £275 a month for 2x DCs. We use breakfast club for both but only the youngest goes to the childminder after school.

Holiday clubs are £15-£40 a day, or more if you book some of the specialised camps. Some nurseries run holiday clubs for reception and Y1 children too which are more expensive. I only need two weeks cover in the summer holidays.

edwinbear · 28/01/2020 21:33

£20 per day, per child. That’s breakfast club from 7.30am then after school until 6.30pm.

Holiday Club £30pd per child same hours, 7.30am - 6.30pm.
