After school is £50 a week, Breakfast club is £1 a day, we don't have to use it every day but at least 3 times a week.

So around £230 a month for 1 DC.

cheeseandcrackers · 28/01/2020 21:35

These breakfast/afterschool clubs seem cheap! I pay £8.50 for breakfast club & £13.50 for afterschool club. Ds does 4 mornings & 2 afternoons a week

Michaelbaubles · 28/01/2020 21:37

I’m gutted at how much I pay now (and our wraparound is cheap, I just need a lot) - £350-£400 a month for 2 DC to go to before- and after-school club every day. FT working single parent teacher here. I get about £150/m tax credits but it’s still pretty crippling.

SympatheticSwan · 28/01/2020 21:42

Around £900 breakfast / after school club (for two), £500 / week holiday cover for two.

Winniethepoohbear · 28/01/2020 21:45

£1800 a month for a full-time nanny Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Has DS3 who's 13 months old and picks up DS2 (on nursery days) and DS1 from school.

EstebanTheMagnificent · 28/01/2020 21:45

£18.50 per day for wraparound care with a childminder, including breakfast and tea, 7.30 - 18.00.

blondemerida · 28/01/2020 21:48

Just over5k. I know it blows my mind.

3DC one in private school, one in p/t private nursery one with nanny. DH and I both work full time and are well paid, but our jobs aren't those where we can do fixed hours.

There isn't much left after this and bills are paid, but hopefully we can manage for a few years whilst they're young.

Rosebel · 28/01/2020 21:52

For 3 days breakfast club is £1.50 a day and after school is £8 but only use that 1 day a week. Breakfast club is 7:30 until 8:45and after school club is 3:15 until 6. Holiday club is £20 a day 8 until 6.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 28/01/2020 21:58

I have 2 primary aged children.

Mon & Tues childminder 2 hours after school = £44 p/w
Wed, Thu & Fri after school club for half hr until my mum comes for them = £4.50 p/w
5 days breakfast club = £20 p/w

This is term time only.

JamMakingWannaBe · 28/01/2020 22:07

Our Primary School makes it VERY clear that Breakfast Club is not pre-school childcare. It's for (disadvantaged) kids to have a breakfast and it's free.

Childminder two days a week so around £150pcm in term time. I work PT so pick up two days a week and OH works compressed hours to do the other day.

Noodledoodledoo · 28/01/2020 22:37

No breakfast club, 3 days after school at childminder about £250 in a normal month. Holiday care is £30 a day but I work term time so don't use it more than 1 day in half terms to give me a chance to get appointments done etc without kids in tow.

Pre both being at school we were paying over £1200 a month!

jellycatspyjamas · 28/01/2020 23:05

I pay £1 per child for breakfast club and £90 per week for childminder after school 3 days a week, so around £380 a month but it allows me to work so is worth every penny.

survivingdad · 29/01/2020 06:53

@JamMakingWannaBe luckily our school offers breakfast club to working parents too.

None, dh and I work FT but flexibly so one of us does the school run every day while the other works a long day and then we switch. I commute into London so it suits me well and means we have a good balance of working lots and time with dc. We are lucky that despite having really high pressure careers with long hours, we have a lot of flexibility.

But we also don’t have family support and there are no childminders who collect from our school and after school club is only 1 day a week. So we’d have to make it work somehow anyway.

it would be £7 for breakfast club (3.50 each) and £24 for after school (12 each). so in total about 650. I went part time instead (pay cut is the same as childcare costs - so financially we break even).

midnightmisssuki · 29/01/2020 07:00

Nothing daily as husband works from home and ha does the kids but her summer school club is £60 per day X two weeks.

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 29/01/2020 07:13

Breakfast club is £3 and after school club £12. It’s the most expensive in the area, despite being one of the poorer areas

Holiday club is £25

Lionsleepstonight · 29/01/2020 07:39

Nothing, i have a DH who works flexibly and GPs. Holidays are a mix of all three of us. Alot of mine and DH annual leave is taken separately to spread our hols which covers all the school holidays. My DC point blank refuse to go to holiday clubs.

MistyIsland · 29/01/2020 07:43

Breakfast club is £5 for the first child and £3 for the second.

After school club is £4 for the first child and £3 for the second.

Luckily the school runs free clubs from 3-4.30pm ran by a teacher.

I’ve only had to use the club occasionally.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 29/01/2020 16:43

breakfast club is £3 for a session per child
after school £6
The holiday club I use is £109 for a week 8.30-5.30. Expensive for the area but very few local clubs offer wrap around, so my hands are tied to a degree. And they do love it.

PanicAndRun · 29/01/2020 17:00

£17.50 a week for breakfast club everyday.
I pick her up and I'm off in the holidays.

However I'm on a pretty low wage so swings and roundabouts really.
