To ask you to tell me how old I look?

I was insulted today and told I look much older than I am. Could I ask you to tell me how old you think?

Early 60s

Smoking massively aged people. We had a high school reunion recently (we are all early 40s) and the smokers looked much , much older.

I also see a lot of "keep out of the sun" on these types of thread.

Don't limit yourself or spend time/money, so that people will proclaim that you look good, once you're over 45.

I have skin, on my body, as you'd expect for someone who didn't limit being out in it, now I'm in my 50's. But who the hell cares? I've had a bloody good time. Which is handy because the menopause has taken away my sex drive. My regret would be that I didn't spend more time in the sun, drinking, in my 20's.

It doesn't matter how good you look 40+, you aren't going to compete with 22 year olds and it's a shame if you haven't come to terms with ageing. So live your life and work on not needing validation from others.

Oh ok - after 3rd photo you don't look 62. Id say 56 - what is your age?

Op, it's impossible to tell from the filtered photos, but facially in the third photo you look the age you are and you're very pretty.

Honestly I think some of the comments saying a lot older are women being catty, but I'm about the same age and have more wrinkles than you!

I know a lot of ladies around 40 who have changed their hair colour as I think the blonde is not as suited.

Have you thought of going darker and warmer? I always hated my dark hair but it's about the only thing I take care of! I get compliments on my hair but admittedly it's harder to disguise the grey.

As an old gimmer I thiink the first photo, if the person who said you were older than you are saw you in your specs, might have been confused by the specs - what is the latest fashion to some is very old fashioned to others. Those specs are Dierdre Barlow circa 1983.

I have specs with slight wings and only framed across the top. I look like my mother circa 1963 as they were first in fashion then. So to me I look old in them.

For what it’s worth though, I have just swapped my bottle blonde for a chocolate brown with caramel highlights and I’ve started getting id’d again. I never thought I would see the day I had dark hair but I feel so fresh x

OP the friend of a friend was being very cruel, you don't look 62, I think people who say that are basing it on people who look very good for that age or celebrities which has skewed what the normal aging process is. If you look at, eg Camilla Parker Bowles, you don't look like her 10 years ago!

But you're obviously self conscious about it (and this thread won't have helped), so use this as motivation to quit smoking for good - it WILL make a difference.

I used to be a bit of a wino and drunk quite heavily, but with a few years of pregnancies and breastfeeding I'm now almost teatotal and my skin does look better than it did when I was drinking a lot 5 years ago. These things do make a difference but the impact I think is somewhat reversible.

I don't know why women ask how old they look because people always get it wrong. I don't think men are as bothered tbh. What makes me laugh is that when I was 16 I would try to look older to get into pubs etc. Now I am much older I have been told I look younger than I actually am but it could be because I have a round face with hardly any lines and I dye my hair blonde. It might even be good genes because my Grandmother never looked her age and she also had a round face.

We're similar ages and I probably look 'younger than you' .. but that's because I'm a big old unit which plumps out those wrinkles 😆

This thread really has given people validation to be cunts, with a wide eyed air of 'but you asked us to be honest' to validate their nastiness.

Op you don't look sixties, but you don't look as if you are in your 40's either. I guess that's what smoking does for you.

OP I'm very nearly 40 and look every day if it and more (three children under five and I run and used to use sunbeds AND smoke) and you do still look quite a bit older than me. Certainly not 42 anyway, I'd have said early 50s.

However, if you changed your hair and makeup, which both look really dated in your unfiltered photo, quit smoking and started actually taking care of your skin, I bet you would look years younger.

You're brave though OP and credit to you for taking the mean comments cheerfully. Lol to the others who are just posting for compliments, especially the latest one.
