Doing some major rejigging of beds and bedrooms so need to invest in new duvet covers as nothing matches. Have seen a nice looking white textured design on special offer.
Thinking about buying the same cover for all three rooms.
Will my house end up looking like a hostel or a bed and breakfast.?

I have white on all mine. And recently branches out to a thin blue stripe. Can't abide fussy covers.

I like white everywhere.

I'd do what I wanted and not worry what anyone else thought about it.

As for the disgust at the people who want coloured or patterned linens to "hid animal dirt", speaking from my own experience, it's not the dirt we're hiding, but the stains that remain after the dirt has been washed away. I always wash things if they get dirty, but even with stain removers, they frequently become stained. And it's not always the animals' fault, either, because the humans in the house also manage to impart their share of stains.

Maybe some of us are just more sensitive to even the slightest stains... Crisp, perfect white looks nice, but it never stays that way for long, so we go for also-nice patterns. And we don't use the same linens for long enough for them to look oddly out of style. As long as you don't opt for something extremely trendy (or care when the trend passes), this isn't really a problem.
