I'll try to keep it brief.

I've been with DH for 12 years have 1 8 year old and have been TTC for 6 years with 6 miscarriages along the way.

My sister has been with her boyfriend for 4 years, has one 3 year old and is now expecting her 2nd.

This did hit me hard I'll admit but I was civil, congratulated etc. It's then announced she's having the name Henry.

My DS is called Harry. Harry is a 'nickname' as such for Henry.

Aibu for not agreeing with the name?! It's too close to home for me and doesn't make any sense.

Please feel free to tell me if you disagree with this but please be nice Wink

@DappledThings

I know right out of all the boys names in the world. 🤣 I’ve never associated Harry as a nick name for Henry though neither does any of my family or friends, so it’s all good.

Two different names. You’re being ridiculous.

CherryPavlova · 14/01/2020 18:51

I’m sure as they grow they’ll be Hal, Hazza, Hen or a hundred other names not related to Henry or Harry. I’d not get too upset by this. There’s a good age gap, they’re actually different names and it really doesn’t matter.

She's not calling her kid the same name though. Hmm

I work in a registry office and have several times married couples who have the same name, or at least shortened preferred versions (Alex and Alex, Harry and Harry). If people can choose life partners with the same name as them I think you can live with cousins having different names.

With love - I think this is a thing that isn't about the thing it's about. Please take some time to process your feelings about your conception journey and the feelings you have towards your sister before they cause you to say something that you'll regret Flowers

Oops ignore the first line, I copied and pasted you then changed my mind about quoting you but forgot to delete Blush
