I keep seeing them come up on Amazon but I'm surprised they are still being published as they seem so outdated in this day and age - woman meets man, falls hopelessly in love, lives happily ever after.

Johanna Lindsey did a good Viking - Fires of Winter

I think there were a couple of others. The son of the H/h in FoW went on to have his own story.

£100k for three books a year isn't accurate, I'm afraid, but you can make a decent living at it if you write four a year. I used to be in a private Yahoo group (showing my age!) for women's magazine short story writers - Kate Hewitt (not her real name) was also a member and I remember how over the moon she was when she sold her first book to them. I've met her a couple of times and we're still Facebook friends, she's absolutely lovely, works her backside off and deserves every bit of success she's had with M&B.

Someone mentioned Black Lace earlier, they were never an M&B imprint. The raunchy M&B one was called Blaze, but I don't think they're still running it. I always wanted to write for Intrigue, but I get exhausted after 4,000 words - I'll stick to shorts!

Kate Hewitt also writes a ton of non-M&B books. She's incredibly prolific (and is also a personal friend of mine!)

The most explicit line they currently have is Dare.
