sleeping in the spare room

Doodar · 11/01/2020 15:19

DH sleeps with the TV on and refuses to turn it off even if he's asleep
He goes to the toilet multiple times a night
He rolls over and bashes me with his arm, I can only sleep on my left hand side
He closes all windows and cranks the heating up, its like a sauna
He wakes me up to approve his out fit options
He constantly blows his nose throughout the night

he says I'm out of order sleeping in the spare room AIBU

I'd be sleeping in a separate house to him.

LeahDownTheLane · 11/01/2020 16:33

Smokes in the bedroom? make your own sanctuary in the spare room or kick him out. Has he always been so selfish?

Nanny0gg · 11/01/2020 16:35

YABU.

SpaceDinosaur · 11/01/2020 16:36

EUW!

So he closes the windows, cranks up the heating, smokes, disturbs you all night long both intentionally and unintentionally.

Does he have ANY redeeming features or is he simply a dick?

Ragwort · 11/01/2020 16:37

How can your own DH tell you that ‘you are out of order’ .. do you have a job description? Hmm

There is nothing at all wrong with sleeping separately, there is plenty wrong with sharing a bedroom with someone who is so inconsiderate. Make the spare room into your own private sanctuary (unless you get rid of DH altogether).

Cherrysoup · 11/01/2020 16:41

Smoking in the bedroom is FOUL. Smoking in the house is disgusting, especially with non p-smokers around. Selfish cunt. I regularly decamp to the spare room so as not to disturb my dh. Just because I can’t sleep doesn’t mean he can’t either.

CatName · 11/01/2020 16:42

YABU for sleeping in the spare bedroom - you should send him there instead!

Doodar · 11/01/2020 16:42

Not many nice qualities actually, he’s a bully.

Pleeeeeeeeese show the selfish, rancid dick the replies. Disgusting behaviour. How old is your son by the way?

I'm a smoker, but smoke outside. I detest smoking in the house, let alone the bedroom. I would decamp to the spare room too.

fairislecable · 11/01/2020 16:50

YABU - he should be in the shed - he sounds like a scrofulous animal.

DogInATent · 11/01/2020 17:02

See the separate rooms thread.

Change the "spare room" to Your Room. Not every couple is sleep compatible.

Purplecatshopaholic · 11/01/2020 17:11

Separate bedrooms and a separate house! Selfish twat!

Aprilsinparis · 11/01/2020 17:20

He sounds like a right bloody narcissist. Selfish prick.

@Doodar YANBU, and I don't 'get' why some men are so weird about sleeping apart from their wife/partner.

Does it make them feel 'emasculated' or something?!

Fuck that! My sleep is far more important than the poor fragile feelings, of a poor iccle insecure man, who feels 'slighted' and HURT coz I have the audacity to want to be able to SLEEP! Hmm

Also OP, your husband sounds awful to sleep with anyway!

TigerOnATrain · 11/01/2020 18:29

@fairislecable

YABU - he should be in the shed - he sounds like a scrofulous animal.

LOL that's a brilliant word! SCROFULOUS! Grin

TooManyPaws · 11/01/2020 18:29

I'd be in a different house 24/7.

Purplewithred · 11/01/2020 18:30

YABU, HE should be sleeping in the spare room.

Alternatively promote the spare room to your room and make it lovely.

He's lucky you're still sleeping in the same house.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 11/01/2020 18:33

Why even bother staying married to the gobshite?

Mylittlepony374 · 11/01/2020 18:33

He smokes in the bedroom?!
That's fucking disgusting.
Put him in the spare room.

Jog22 · 11/01/2020 18:36

He is either unbelievably ignorant about the effects of sleep deprivation or he actually wants you sleep deprived because it lowers your defences, ability to concentrate and overall well-being. Frankly I don't think he loves you. Ask him what he thinks about that.

annualleavepurchase · 11/01/2020 18:37

Eww you would be unreasonable to sleep in a different country!!

How old is your ds and why is dh bringing him into it? Inappropriate.?

annualleavepurchase · 11/01/2020 18:39

Wouldn't be *
