I'll start, mine are:

"Boys will be boys"

"Think outside the box"

"Blue sky thinking" this makes my blood boil when someone says it at work.

OP posts:
Conformingtoregulations · 11/01/2020 10:45

Boils my piss is just awful. I can barely type it I hate it so much. Only ever see it on here

WeeSleekitTimerousMoosey · 11/01/2020 10:45

'I identify as'.

I don't fucking care.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 11/01/2020 10:45

I'll have some of THEM things makes me want to kill.... (it's those!! Stabby).

At the end of the day... Angry

Love you to the moon and back... Yep stabby. If you don't love your kids.. You really shouldn't have had them....

I'm not being funny but.... (no you're not...)

And its twin... I'm jot being rude... But you're really fat/horrible /whatever..

ssd · 11/01/2020 10:45

"I'm a people's person"

Ponoka7 · 11/01/2020 10:46

End of, just fuck off now, would be my reply.

When someone comes out with a stupid rant, usually bigoted in some way and seemingly asks a question, but finishes it with, Thought not!

Winterwoollies · 11/01/2020 10:46

@StillCoughingandLaughing Jaysus, do people really say that?! That is awful. I would have to cut contact with anyone who said that. I wonder if they’d go in to say, “titting the toddler.”

TheRealShatParp · 11/01/2020 10:46

YES to ‘I’m not being funny but...’

ssd · 11/01/2020 10:47

Oh god and on MN all the bloody time

"I would of gone out" etc etc

It's not bloody would of you moron

Ponoka7 · 11/01/2020 10:48

When someone is pulled up for being a twat and replies with "it's not in my nature to upset people or I call a spade a spade"

"snowflake", "libtard".

CalamityJune · 11/01/2020 10:48

"Boils my piss"

Urgh.

TheRealShatParp · 11/01/2020 10:48

‘What you see is what you get’

Winterwoollies · 11/01/2020 10:49

“I’m not being funny/rude but...” is an excellent suggestion. People seem to think it gives them carte blanche to be an arsehole.

“End of,” is another shocker. I always seem to see it written on Facebook as “End off.” 🙄

ZebrasAreHorsesInPyjamas · 11/01/2020 10:49

"Boils my piss", aaagh, never heard it until I was on here, what does it even mean? Confused

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 11/01/2020 10:50

'Rant over'

Is another one that irritates me.

TheRealShatParp · 11/01/2020 10:50

‘.....and breathe’
Or commonly written as ‘.....and breath’

HandsOffMyRights · 11/01/2020 10:51

'Reaching out'
'Safe space'
'My pronouns are...'

MrsWednesdayteatime · 11/01/2020 10:52

I hate seeing RIP,

A Facebook post to say Bob has sadly passed away

100 people underneath commenting RIP some with sad emojis.

I appreciate people express sadness and grief in their own ways, but a whole sentence would be so much nicer and mean so much more than an acronym,

TheRealShatParp · 11/01/2020 10:52

Using the word proverbial when it’s not at all necessary. ‘He’s taking the proverbial piss’

Nutkin123 · 11/01/2020 10:52

Ooh another one, someone at work says this at least three times a week "well it's the chicken or the egg isn't it?" SHUT UP YOU ENTITLED DEMON. As you can tell I really don't like this person 😂

OP posts:
CalamityJune · 11/01/2020 10:52

@ZebrasAreHorsesInPyjamas it must be a variation of "gets my blood boiling". I have heard one person use it in conversation and I just thought it was a disgusting image. Horrible.

RedRec · 11/01/2020 10:59

'It's only banter'. Favoured expression of bullies.

Goldenwrapper · 11/01/2020 11:00

"I'm just saying it how it is" 🙄

PooWillyBumBum · 11/01/2020 11:00

“At the end of the day”
“End of”
“Rant over”

...above are always used by absolute cretins.

“Squad goals”
“My little family”
“Boy did good”
“He’s been”

...above used by narcissistic and/or insecure people who need to come off social media.

Then there are the work ones like...
“Low hanging fruit”
“I touched base with X”

Ones that pointlessly annoy me include “haven’t got a Scooby”

WatcherintheRye · 11/01/2020 11:03

Not one of my particular bugbears, but I remember one of my colleagues (back in the 90s) used to get enraged by the use of the phrase 'state of the art' which was probably a buzz phrase at the time!

SusanneLinder · 11/01/2020 11:05

"Going forward " is the one that makes me particularly stabby. Just fuck off.
