Soo I’ve worked a full week and done the weeks food shop. Was looking forward to flopping with a glass of white only to find yet again it’s been hoiked out and shoved in a cupboard. I only drink on a Fri night and dh doesn’t drink white. Says he hates it cluttering up the fridge.Hmm We have two small frudges, yes they get rammed but frankly at 50 years of age I think I can keep a single bottle of wine in my own fridge.Angry

I’d actually be quite upset about that OP. He’s saying he doesn’t care about you having your treats. Pretty shitty Sad

Post it note on the bottle
and
separate fridges
and
freeze his red wine
and
tell him to fucking well stop taking your fucking wine out of the fucking fridge because it's not fucking funny and it is giving you fucking serious fucking doubts about your willingness to live with him.

fucker.

Somebodystired · 11/01/2020 08:26

If it's a single bottle of wine, and he knows you will definitely have it on a friday night, and there is space for it, then YANBU.

My DH does this though- always has about six bottles of beer in the fridge that could he in there for weeks and weeks so I do end up taking them out if we don't have room. Not helped by the fact that he works in food sales and often comes home with catering-sized things to go in the fridge (like a bucket of chilli jam?!) with no thought of how we will fit our actual weekly food shop in there!

septemberismyfavouritemonth · 11/01/2020 08:28

Seriously annoying! No one wants warm white wine!

GuyFawkesDay · 11/01/2020 08:32

When he leaves a half drunk bottle of red on the side, pour it away. It's cluttering up the kitchen, right?

Sally872 · 11/01/2020 08:36

Once is an accident. Any more is really rude. Why does he think your wine being chilled is less important than the fridge being cluttered? Also it is not a joke so no sense of humour fail.

Lollypop701 · 11/01/2020 08:38

Stop doing the shopping... you can pick up your wine on way home from work from a shop with a fridge. When he asks where the food is tell him you didn’t want a cluttered fridge with no room for your wine.

iklboo · 11/01/2020 08:38

Put his red in the fridge.

There are some banal threads on here tonight

I'm sorry, I thought this was Mumsnet, not Newsnight.

GabriellaMontez · 11/01/2020 09:03

Not funny. Is he always a knob is this just a one off?

billy1966 · 11/01/2020 11:04

More than once is deliberate.

He doesn't sound nice.

Small things in relationships can tell you a lot.

I bet he's no prize.

Poor OP is married to a right twat.

DobbyLovesSocks · 11/01/2020 11:18

This is a really twatty thing to do.

Start storing his red wine in the freezer - saying you hate it cluttering up where it is currently stored

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 11/01/2020 11:33

Put the cheeky fucker's red wine in the garden. It's really annoying when it's cluttering up the house, right?!

CosmoK · 11/01/2020 11:34

Passive aggressive twatty behaviour

HopeItComesWithBatteries · 11/01/2020 11:57

He’s not very nice to you, is he?

Is he otherwise inconsiderate/ a “prankster”/ abusive?
