Are we totally mad - buying a house and having a baby

Will try to keep this short the more I think about it the more I feel overwhelmed...

We are currently renting - rental period ends August 4th, letting agents will only let us sign a year's lease after our current one ends.

Baby number 1 is due July 24th

We have the deposit to buy a house - we need to move into a house ideally as close to the end of our lettings period as possible.

Can we swing this or are we mad to even consider it - buying would cut our bills significantly and I would feel more secure owning a house with a baby than stuck in rentals...

AIBU to think we can find and buy a house and move in whilst heavily pregnant/with a newborn.

For info - both our families are local, hands on and helpful, baby will be first grandchild on both sides.

The timing is tricky if you want very lityle crossover, because baby could come any time mid July to nud August. I would go for moving in the first half of July if finances can allow at all.
Either way, I think it's fine. Not ideal, but fine. You will either be moving very pregnant, or with a tiny baby. But I think before the birth is better.

Out baby was due on the 13th April and our completion date was the 10th. She came 2 weeks early so we moved house with a 6 day old.

I'm not going to lie it was pretty bloody stressful, we were lucky in that it was only a very small chain though and being a first time buyer will be massively in your favour.

I'd still do it all over again because at the end of the day we own our home and it's such a great feeling to be able to have your baby's room exactly how you want it without worrying about landlords!
