To ask about baby nighties......

Are they becoming a thing now?. A bit like Spanish baby clothing, very traditional.
I make baby/toddler clothing, on a very small scale, more word of mouth.
I remember mine wearing these nighties, there were obviously babygros, but I just loved the feel of them on baby.
I've seen them for sale more and more.
Anyway, deciding to make up some, embroidered and some smocked, probably personalised, Do you think it could be a popular item?
I've attached a photo of the sort of style I mean, they will be in white flannelette.

@81Byerley because they used to is hardly a good argument is it. Cars didn’t used to have seat belts 🤷‍♀️

My children wore the night dresses I wore as a baby (they were long and open at the bottom). 42 years later they were still in perfect condition and my DD (last child) slept soundly in them. There are

a few brands selling quite expensive similar artisan nightwear for toddler age up children, this might be something you would consider. There are some beautiful things available

@Puds11 very true! But I still think the nighties were safe!

My babies had Viyella nighties, they buttoned up the back and had attached sashes. They were so sweet, lots of ironing though. They worked because we were taught to put our babies to sleep on their tummies. Now they go down on their backs, I imagine the buttons would be uncomfortable.

Nighties similar to these pop up in lots of naice shops in London and start in toddler sizes going upwards. You can find all different designs. They are really pretty and can be expensive. How about these? I'm sure lots of little girls would love them!

I couldn’t be doing with anything that couldn’t be machine washed, needed trining and potentially couldn’t be bleached for babies.

The cotton jersey bundles from John Lewis were excellent for us.

I used ones with elastic at the bottom, I also used a grobag.

Mine were not traditional looking though.

They made those night time nappy changes super easy. I recommend them to anyone.

Use elastic at the bottom, they are then called "bundlers" and are excellent for night time nappy changes.

Usually you'd have a button at the neck nowadays.
