To think Mumsnet is absolutely miserable this Christmas

Nearly every thread I'm popping on today is a moan. Shit gifts, shit husbands, house is a mess, why can't retail workers not work Christmas time, glad it's all over, let's rip christmas decorations down for another year.

I've come on here and its left me feeling deflated!

Did anyone have a good Christmas???

YANBU, however among the MN gloom there was a couple who are fostering this Christmas and her post stood out like a shining star.
They got a little kitchen for the 3 year old and the tiny baby was enjoying lots of cuddles.
It was lovely to read.

This thread makes for sad reading. The lack of empathy for those that have had a tough year is very lacking.

My Christmas was a bit miserable, because I've been miserable for a while now.

And others similar. That's why they post threads, in need. Surely this is no surprise to op or all the other posters! HmmAngry

Ours was perfect.

The day before Christmas Eve, DH’s step mum had a scan confirming that her cancer hadn’t changed. It’s not going to get better, but knowing it hasn’t got any worse in the last month was fantastic news after a run of things deteriorating. After that, it could only ever be a good week.

Yesterday was lovely. We’ve seen lots of things happen around us recently which has really made us count our blessings. We spoiled each other rotten and both loved our presents. We cooked together and cleaned up together and just enjoyed each other’s company. More of the same today.

Maddie I saw that post, it made me teary knowing that little girl must have felt so happy.

We had a lovely surrounded by family who all love and like each other, the food was lovely and everyone went home happy. My DH is fabulous and I adore him, even though he can be a a twat at times.

The only thing I could possibly moan about was that it didn’t snow!

@thepeopleversuswork not at all! Consider it more of an observation than a dig!

I had a lovely Christmas too even though I'm ill and my DCs we've all come down with awful colds and coughs but we had a brilliant time and DH cooked an amazing Christmas dinner for us all.
It was just lovely having Christmas with just us four this year as previous ones have been busy with family staying etc so we really did have a wonderful one this year despite the colds

Grin Grin

That made me laugh.

I was tempted earlier to start a thread earlier in defence of all the 'useless' husbands. Going by mumsnet all women everywhere don't 'need' anything and if they want something they just buy it themselves. Gifts of toiletries, candles, 'tat' etc are all terrible. Can't buy clothing because it's always wrong but gift vouchers are a lazy option. Apparently everyone would rather just have 'experiences'. Although being given an experience gift always seems to be on the worst gifts to receive list. According to mumsnet every single husband has done every single thing wrong this year. Poor blokes.
