Was married to someone for 6 years who did fuck all in or out of the house. He's very workshy and his lack of ambition and laziness killed any love I had for him. I couldn't respect him. Funny enough I was made to feel a 'gold digger' Hmm Never again.

So I'm just curious, what does your DH do for a living?

Investment banker - I’m a gold digger Grin

Natsku · 26/12/2019 21:30

Electrician, has his own firm with his dad.

dontticklethetoad · 26/12/2019 21:31

Town Clerk for a large town.

amusedbush · 26/12/2019 21:31

He’s a postie (Royal Mail) and he absolutely loves it. He’s the only person I know who has never complained about having to go to work!

PickAChew · 26/12/2019 21:33

Ex also worked in software, when he turned up.

DH does stuff around the house, ex was content to spend his time sitting or lying, surrounded by filth.

Not sure why there’s always the sarcastic comments on these threads of, “Amazing how everyone’s husband on here is apparently a millionaire”, when, in fact, not one person has said this and there are sorts of jobs being posted Confused
Obviously there will be those whose husbands who make multi- millions on here, But they can’t exactly post that. On MN, anyone whose DH earns over £100k must clearly be a “stealth boaster”, so the responses will be skewed.

cosima1 · 26/12/2019 21:35

allsorts of jobs!

Icanflyhigh · 26/12/2019 21:36

Flood mitigation consultant, but hopefully not for much longer as just purchased own repair garage business so planning to turn hobby into his career.

BanKittenHeels · 26/12/2019 21:37

My husband is Emmerdale. He doesn’t write it, produce it, or act in it, he just is Emmerdale.

bellinisurge · 26/12/2019 21:39

Same as me: civil servant.
He does most of the cooking and meal planning. He's a tidier more efficient cook than I am.
Sorry you lived with a lazy arse, op.

AliTheMinx · 26/12/2019 21:39

My DH is an IT Architect! In real terms, I think that means a Software Developer Smile

kimmy3001 · 26/12/2019 21:41

Self employed plasterer and renderer. I'm at home with the kids. He brings the money in but I hold our home down. We're a team

BillywigSting · 26/12/2019 21:43

Scientist - started as an analytical chemist and is now some sort of production /quality control manager. He's the one making sure your medicine works and your shampoo doesn't give you chemical burns.

It's nothing like as lucrative as you might imagine, especially for the level of education /training he has.

ginandnappies · 26/12/2019 21:44

He's a QA/QC manager for an oil company.

chatongris · 26/12/2019 21:44

Mine has done all sorts. Ambulance driver, NHS manager, accountant and now translator.

I've always been the main earner though so can't be accused of gold-digging ;)

QuestionableMushroom · 26/12/2019 21:45

Insurance underwriter

lissie123 · 26/12/2019 21:45

BillywigSting · 26/12/2019 21:47

He also works his socks off at home and regularly has the place spotless with coffee in the pot and dinner ready for me when I come home from a late shift (I'm a hca because it fits in well with childcare).

We're not rich (less than 35k between us both working full time) but we like our jobs

Livpool · 26/12/2019 21:50
