To ask if you bought a Marks Yule Log this year, was it drier than the Gobi Desert?

So, this is a moan and a first world problem. I fully acknowledge that. Just curious.
Did anyone buy the Yule Log from Marks this year and find it drier than the Gobi desert?
Also, what was a hit you'd buy again I need to New Years Day inspo for lunch buffet for 12.
Thanks

We have a Marks Yule log, it has gone down well and is not dry.

Basilicaofthemind · 26/12/2019 22:54

I also got the Aldi hot chocolate pudding with orange and it went down an absolute storm. Even the non pudding people liked it.

hiphiphoorayback · 26/12/2019 23:04

Tesco Finest was the worst chocolate log I have ever tasted, totally dry, right through and broke up into its constituent parts. The Aldi Belgian one was a bit too moist and flacid.Grin

MaddieElla · 26/12/2019 23:09

Ours was very very moist! Lovely.

I am so glad the sticky toffee trifle was sold out because they looked gorgeous in the advert with no pubes included.

WhiskersPete · 26/12/2019 23:09

I see your toffee trifal with a big pube in it and I'll raise you food poisoning from the M&S shelfish platter. £50 to spend Xmas day vomiting.

Ladybirdbookworm · 26/12/2019 23:21

Another one here who thought it was just me ....dry and boring.

SweetMarmalade · 26/12/2019 23:45

We had the M&S raspberry & prosecco panna cotta (serves 10) for Christmas desert and it was beautiful!

ssd · 26/12/2019 23:47

I bought it and it was lovely

ssd · 26/12/2019 23:48

Mine was the fiver cheapy version

AnnaFiveTowns · 27/12/2019 00:00

The toadstool one is bloody gorgeous!

TheAlmightyFinch · 27/12/2019 00:05

Gaaaaah, you’ve just reminded me that we had the whole family round for Boxing Day tonight, and the whole bloody thing stayed in the cupboard because I forgot I had bought one. I hate chocolate cake.

Does anyone want an M&S Yule log??

WishThisWasGin · 27/12/2019 00:07

We had a great selection from Aldi! the Panna Cotta and Raspberry Wreath was lovely, the mini cheese cakes were spot on, the bombe with black cherry was very soft and moist...the biggest hit was the Colin the caterpillar rip off! Lots of chocolate and scrummy!

Tesco finest Yule log here. It wasn’t great and quite dry. I’ve got another one to get through butit’s just not the treat I was looking forward to.

MrsPworkingmummy · 27/12/2019 00:09

We bought the toadstool one, which everyone enjoyed. It was soft and moist. We also bought the Rudolph cheesecake which was absolutely delicious too.
