I have been spoilt. We bought a new sofa a couple of months ago and DP got me some lovely cushions. Got some scented candles and a surprise slow cooker.

Mine were perfect. We recently moved countries and packed in a rush lazyitis and I didn't bring many warm clothes.

DH got me a cardigan, a few jumpers, a wrap, a poncho and a cape. Earrings and sunglasses. And a Christmas tree 😁

I didn't think we were doing presents this year as we haven't sorted our mailbox so can't get things delivered and haven't been anywhere to get gifts. I'll get him a phone/tablet projector when I can order.

We weren't going to get a tree either as the puppy would eat it or piss up it 🙈 but he got a small tabletop one, complete with decs and lights. And tree chocs!

We even sacked off Christmas dinner yesterday as it was too hot and we didn't feel like it, so we'll have it today.

Despite being a bit sad we weren't having Christmas with the rest of our families I had the best, most relaxed Christmas ever ❤️

being at home surrounded by love and laughter. Last year was in a hospital an hour from home with a very sick dd.

My kids picked out some lovely, thoughtful gifts this year. My DD (19) bought me some really beautiful handmade silver dragonfly shaped earrings, and a gorgeous frame for a print I bought a little while ago for my bedroom. DS (20) bought me a fantastic set of crochet hooks with padded handles that will make it easier and less painful for me to crochet (I have tendinitis and arthritis in my right wrist, and he remembered me saying in passing that I needed some) He also got me a 1000 piece puzzle of a Tara McpPherson print that I really like, I'm doing that at the moment.

My eight year old daughter took herself away three or four days ago to make presents. She made me a book of poems she had written. She wrote five poems and drew beautiful pictures for each. Then she sellotaped it all together into a book and wrapped it up for me. It is so lovely! Best present ever!

lovegivelive · 26/12/2019 10:36

I've been spoiled but my favourite was a framed picture of all five grandchildren my step daughter had made for me. It is so lovely

The Lonely Planet Guide to The Universe. One of DH’s gifts. Been dipping in ever since. Love reading about planets, stars and galaxies.

My amazing DP got me some v. expensive trainers that is been coveting for months, but couldn't justify the cost (I mean the best part of £400)

I was well and truly spoiled by DPs family, as was DD.
She isn't his, but they've accepted her as one of their own and honestly - she had bags and bags and bags of presents round there.
I'm so very grateful for his family. They're amazing people.

My dad got me some gorgeous presents too.

I feel very lucky.

I got some lovely new pyjamas and hugely fluffy socks from dh, a beautiful and unusual necklace from ds2 (he'd chosen it but dh paid) but the one that brought a tear to my eye was from ds1 (he's 15). It's a gorgeous stained glass swift that hangs in the window and catches the light gloriously. And he chose and bought it himself with his earnings from his (very) part time job.

Whatsername177 · 26/12/2019 13:00

I got a wonderful pile of 'mum' presents - bath stuff, new PJ's which I absolutely love, face stuff, a weighted blanket from dh (that I didn't really want) and more chocolate than I could ever eat (really didn't want that either!) I can honestly say I probably wouldn't have chosen any of the stuff (except from the pjs) but I'm so grateful and I'm really happy. I've been spoiled by people who love me. I'm ridiculously tricky to buy for as I don't know what I want myself (except a puppy, but Christmas is not the time for that). I'm really thankful.

We suffered a miscarriage 3 weeks ago so my Xmas spirit was low. My ds's made me an album to remind me of the good memories of the year, and an infinity chain with my 3 ds's names on and our late daughters name aswell.

Beyond thoughtful and made me feel so loved.

my partner hot me some clothes and new trainers, but my favourite was a necklace with a glass dome in the middle. if you hold it close to your eye and look through, you can see inside, its says I love you in 100 different languages. He also got a wooden photo frame engraved and with a picture of me and my daughter in from her Smile

Myheadisamess31 · 26/12/2019 18:25

I had a heated blanket off DH and omg it's amazing. I've not moved much today though because I've been wrapped up in it. Glad you have been spoilt 😊 slow cookers are fantastic

LoveofAvalon · 26/12/2019 18:31

My lovely iPad Pro. Totally unexpected

A shepherd's crook

AragonsGirl · 26/12/2019 19:08

My favourites are my beautiful joe browns coat from my in-laws, and a Harry Potter Lego set from my husband and children

ForestYeti · 26/12/2019 19:25

Pandora ring I’ve been lusting after for ages, my one piece of actual jewellery that isn’t primark! & a dkny lounge suit, treated myself this year instead of just the usual box of chocolates I get myself

McCanne · 26/12/2019 20:39

My husband gave me a weighted blanket and I love it. I don’t know how it works but the last two nights (he gave me it on Christmas Eve) I’ve slept so well and but for dd waking me in the mornings I think I would sleep for a much longer time. It might be coincidence but I haven’t had hot/restless feet the last two nights either - it’s usually worse when I haven’t drank a lot of water but not even a niggle.

I also got loads of books, my favourite being Mary Beard’s Women & Power from my sister. I haven’t read it and it’s been on my megagiant ‘to read’ list forever, which my sister wouldn’t have known, but she knew me well enough to choose it for me. It’s always really emotional when someone surprises you with something they’ve clearly put thought into.
