I have been spoilt. We bought a new sofa a couple of months ago and DP got me some lovely cushions. Got some scented candles and a surprise slow cooker.

I got what I wanted because I live alone and have always bought myself presents.

This year it has been a tool bag, I coffee grinder and some dressy hair slides because I am growing my hair and a pair of boots

Previously it has been. An Alexa, A big telly, A new bed, A food processor.

It varies according to what I 'need' and my current financial status.

Creas35 · 25/12/2019 22:08

@Rose789 that is beautiful, you have a very thoughtful DH.

Hellokittymania · 25/12/2019 22:13

I went to a community Christmas party today, and we received goodie bags. My favorite was the chocolate cupcake and the Christmas biscuits with chocolates…

steppingout · 25/12/2019 22:18

I generally help DSD get presents because DP isn't very good at remembering - she wrote me a note saying she was really sorry she didn't have a gift for me because she really loves me and she'd make sure she got something. Made me cry a bit!

TheTruthAboutLove · 25/12/2019 22:19

I’ve got bags and bags full of gifts. But the one that stands out is a mug my sister and husband had made with loads of photos of her chihuahuas on and ‘Chihuahua Aunty’ on it. I absolutely love it, and probably will never use it as I’m scared of breaking it! They also got me a book with every newspaper article about Newcastle United (as I’m a huge fan) which was great. She always puts such thought into gifts which I love!

ChazP · 25/12/2019 22:22

My daughter doesn’t get pocket money but off her own back she wrapped up and gave us all something: she gave me some bath salts she’d made at a birthday party, she gave her brother one of her minecraft books and gave her dad a little stamp set. However lovely my other presents are, these are the ones I will never forget.

ithinkmycatistryingtokillme · 25/12/2019 22:26

Some photos off my godmothet, she'd been having a clear out and found them. They include two photos of my dm and df wedding, they divorced when I was little and I don't have any of their wedding.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 25/12/2019 22:30

Something for my hobby I had mentioned from Ds1 plus something else for my hobby that he’d seen and thought I’d like (it’s perfect!) And my favourite chocolates from ds2.

bluechameleon · 25/12/2019 22:38

I suggested to DH he get me something from Emma Bridgewater and mentioned a couple of ranges I liked. He bought the exact items I would have chosen and I love them.

JustaScratch · 25/12/2019 22:47

DH got me Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Pérez that I've been wanting to read all year. In fact, I've bought it for DM in the hope I could borrow it after she finished and now I don't have to. DM bought me all new towels - lovely thick John Lewis ones - four full sets plus and extra set for DD!

Slazengerbag · 25/12/2019 23:13

My mum made me a table runner. It’s just beautiful and she spent so much time on it. I will treasure it.

BarbedBloom · 25/12/2019 23:48

My husband got me the two Huda eyeshadow palettes I have wanted for ages but dismissed due to cost and also a really lovely perfume from the same brand. He also found me the books that Howl's Moving Castle (Studio Ghibli) is based on, which was a lovely surprise. My mother also got me a lovely painting kit I have wanted for ages.

lorettalemon · 26/12/2019 00:07

My friend got me a hot water bottle that fits round the neck. I have a slipped disc at the moment so I am absolutely delighted with it!

MrsToothyBitch · 26/12/2019 00:28

I've had some lovely ones this year, I can't choose! The sweetest was a friend replacing and upgrading my sewing bag. He'd really listened when I mentioned that mine was getting too small and had been written off by a damp problem in my rental (just left). I hadn't expected a present at all and the thought that went into it really touched me.

I feel awful but I didn't like my huge main surprise from my parents this year. In theory I do & I'm so grateful for the thought, it's overwhelmingly nice... but it's something I would've preferred to choose for myself, at a later date. Xmas SadXmas Blush

I've been told I'm simultaneously easy & hard to buy for though. It's a minefield Sad

my five year old gave me a set of russian dolls that he asked his dad to buy on his behalf. he gave his dad £2 from his money box for them and wrapped them himself. i collect russian dolls and i absolutely love them. and my 12 year old bought me a body length hot bottle that i’m snuggled up to now.

ims0rrydarlin · 26/12/2019 02:42

Philips IPL device. So excited to use this.
Versace Handbag.

Pipandmum · 26/12/2019 02:50

I've been thinking of getting myself a Garmin fitness watch but decided I couldn't stretch to it as I bought some jewelry for myself (I'm a widow so no partner to get me anything) when my teenage son surprised me with the watch! He's still school age and has a part time job - I'd been at him for spending all his money so quick not knowing he'd spent it mostly on me!

mediumbrownmug · 26/12/2019 06:51

Favorite gift this year was actually from BiL, who historically is less than great at gifts. For context, one year he changed his mind after Christmas and asked us to give him cash instead of the expensive and very non refundable gift that we’d checked ahead of time that he’d still wanted (he knew it was non refundable and had already been gifted it on Christmas Day). That was the same year he gave us a printed picture of pillowcases that never actually materialized. Grin

But this year, for the first time, he gave everyone very thoughtful gifts. I got a book on a subject that I’m genuinely interested in (I enjoy reading), and DH got a similarly considerate gift. Definitely my favorite this year, as it was unexpected and quite out of the ordinary for him.

NotQuiteUsual · 26/12/2019 06:53

My 6 year told got me a dibdab from her Christmas fayre at school. Hid it this whole time. She knows I love them, she loves them too, but managed to keep it for me for weeks. I bet the temptation to eat it was really high for her. So that's my best gift by far.

Westiegirl3 · 26/12/2019 07:11

From DH who is an amazing gift buyer excelled himself this year and surprised me with a gorgeous Gucci wallet, a super soft and cosy white company dressing gown, a new Radley work bag, Victoria Beckham eye shadow that is amazing, surprisingly fab! and a box full of my favourite loccitane shower gels and body moisturiser.
I can't pick a favourite, they are all so thoughtful

Okbutno · 26/12/2019 07:27

I got lot of lovely things. My faves are some beautiful riso prints. I take photos of my presents every year as I found I couldn't remember everything by the next year!

ginandgingers92 · 26/12/2019 07:52

Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser (copper) and my DC's handprint in clay are my fave 😍😍😍

Clockworkprincess · 26/12/2019 08:21

For the past three years my dad hasn't done xmas presents as he said he has no idea. This year he completely shocked my sister and me by buying us matching lockets to put a photo of our mum who died three years ago in. It's absolutely beautiful and despite us having vastly different tastes works for both of us. Am going to treasure it.

BarkandCheese · 26/12/2019 08:42

DH got me a years membership to the V&A which I asked for and am very happy with. My dad gave me the hotel chocolat velvetiser, which I wasn’t expecting but was a nice surprise.

DD 12 bought me two Pretty Little Liars books from her school bazaar. She told me she’d seen me reading the first one so she got me more, which was a bit baffling as I’ve never read any of them but I didn’t say that, I just thanked her. I later realised what she’d seen me reading was Big Little Lies, she’d got the similar titles muddled up. I really appreciate the thought thought.

christmasathome · 26/12/2019 09:49

I got some amazing presents, totally spoiled. New fit buy which i love and a harry potter charm for my pandora bracelet are probably my favourites.
