That does look really yummy! I’m cooking mine tomorrow so no pics here yet.

MrsIronfoundersson · 24/12/2019 15:44

Looks fabulous!

I know it’s a confusing time of year, but Christmas is tomorrow!

Looks bloody lovely

longearedbat · 24/12/2019 16:02

It does look excellent. Are you eating it cold tomorrow though? (Or eating it shortly? - I am hungry; a bit of that crispy skin just now would be lovely!)

danmthatonestakentryanotheer · 24/12/2019 16:13

Cooked mine today as well...putting it in a casserole dish with gravy to warm through tomorrow...that's if there's any left after OH has stopped picking at it. Grin

kittiesattack · 24/12/2019 16:21

I am a little Afraid mine won't defrost in time! Put it in the fridge yesterday and it was still frozen solid this morning. It is now in the spare room and getting softer. Heating off in that room
And window open so not
Too warm

cardibach · 24/12/2019 16:23

I don’t get cooking turkey and making gravy the day before. It’s so much nicer freshly cooked and hot, and gravy is only a short task.
Looks good, but will only be at its best if you are having Christmas dinner immediately.

Therunecaster · 24/12/2019 16:24

Looks wonderful

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 24/12/2019 16:24

I don't understand people cooking their food today and reheating in some way tomorrow. Do you do this with many of your meals? Xmas Confused

Looks lovely. But it would be better eaten freshly-cooked.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 24/12/2019 16:25

Cross post, @cardibach!

ivykaty44 · 24/12/2019 16:28

I much prefer hot roast meat out the oven, allow to rest for an hour whilst you make the gravy etc and eat freshly cooked.

I’ve had reheated meat & it wasn’t pleasant, 😐

seething1234 · 24/12/2019 16:30

I always cook today for tomorrow. Makes Christmas Day less stressful. So have my ham and turkey crown already made.

Tomorrow I’ll have visitors and will be using the oven for our sausage rolls, Camembert, breads etc.

I follow a very popular Irish professional chef and he cooks on Christmas Eve for Christmas Day.

FesteredFairy · 24/12/2019 16:33

YABVU, although it does look extremely good, what about those of us, who cannot abide turkey and were forced for 26 years to have a slice of breast meat, which HAD to be eaten?

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 24/12/2019 16:33

I'd actively avoid going to dinner where reheated food was being served!

If you rest the meat for the proper amount of time you have plenty of time to cook everything else.

cardibach · 24/12/2019 16:34

How is it significantly less stressful? Put it in the oven. Take it out when it’s done. Same as every roast you make any Sunday...

IShitGlitter · 24/12/2019 16:37

Am working tonight a night shift then staying up Christmas day so making the day as less stress as possible will warm I will carve it tomorrow and put it in a roaster dish covered in foil with a small amount of water at the bottom then then it will be added to the gravy along with any resting juices.

It looks lovely OP. Just ignore the idiots that go out of their way to try and bring people down. They are all over every thread at the moment being horrible.
Op never asked anyone to comment on what day she was cooking her turkey just that it looked good, which it does. She may well be eating today because some people do, because everyone does things differently. There is no need to be nasty and act all superior about when you cook a bloody turkey.

Celebelly · 24/12/2019 16:42

I love the look and smell of a roast turkey. It just looks so inviting. Enjoy!

TSSDNCOP · 24/12/2019 16:44

OMG let’s clobber the poor woman for needing to cook her Turkey early.

It looks delicious OP. Are you working for the emergency services?

Crinklesmile · 24/12/2019 16:45

It looks amazing!!

sonjadog · 24/12/2019 16:47

That looks great!

Camomila · 24/12/2019 16:48

Looks lovely! Ours is in the oven right now (though it's a guinea fowl - traditional Italian Christmas meat).
We also cooked a prestuffed chicken crown earlier as the guinea fowl is tiny.

The potatoes, vegetables and yorkshire puds are getting roasted tomorrow.

lettersbyowl · 24/12/2019 16:48

Looks lush OP!!! I hope mine comes out as well!!! Hope you enjoy it, and have a lovely Christmas Xmas Smile
