No explanation, you know what I mean.

Hermes are awful here, they just don't deliver for some reason and give a shitty excuse, like "oops, the parcel was too big to be handled by the courier", when it's a shoebox sized parcel

I ask companies which courier they use now and just don't order, if they mention Hermes (because the order simply doesn't arrive)

Watchdog have been onto them in the past (clearly this didn't make much difference)

TrifenyMarlowe · 23/12/2019 19:57

Hermes are variable where I am.

Yodel, on the other hand... Well! It's the only company I won't help in any way, shape or form. I've spent days, literally days, waiting around for them only for really really important items to just get sent back to the sender because they couldn't be arsed attempting a delivery. No amount of escalations e.g. to their ceo exec complaint team made a bit of difference, it was jus6in an endless loop of "we're looking into it".

If I pass a Yodel delivery van I honestly can't stop myself calling them all the cunts under the sun, they have repeatedly been utterly fucking useless and I'll pop out the champagne if I ever heard they're going under. That level of shit has no place in the courier market, plenty other companies should get their business.

Andrew Peeler (CEO) or if their social media management team read this - fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. Your shitty company made a stressed new mum in hospital even more stressed than she needed to be, I fucking hope your company goes under.

My Hermes guy is great I have no complaints at all. Think it depends on area but some seem to need some extra training
Dpd I don’t like or Royal Mail parcel delivery but our postman is really good

PinkiOcelot · 23/12/2019 19:59

My Hermes driver is absolutely fine. The one before him was great. I’ve no complaint.

HeIenaDove · 23/12/2019 20:00

A heads up. One of the Hermes depots has been robbed. Hundreds of Christmas presents gone.

I have two people from Hermes who deliver to my house.

Both of them are great. ( A big shout out to Gaynor and her grandchildren.)

They are both reliable and trustworthy. I guess I'm lucky

NamechangeProtectIdentity · 23/12/2019 20:02

My Hermes lady is amazing. We have an unspoken agreement where parcels and returns are done via my garage.

Now Yodel are HORRIFIC.

sayanythingelse · 23/12/2019 20:02

It's pure luck with Hermes I think. I used to live in a big city and it was always a different courier. Some were ok. One was very rude and one always used to steal my parcels from H&M.

I live in a small town now and my courier lady is fantastic! I'm pleased when something is coming via Hermes as I know it always delivered on time and left round the back if I'm out.

Daffodildainty · 23/12/2019 20:36

Absolutely awful - delivered a package with multiple gifts to a neighbour Numerous doors away - no card - got an email to say delivered to my house at a time I was in - and signed for. Hours trying to call/ check on line. Eventually one of the neighbours I do know and I had checked with established it was at another house. Livid!

GladAllOver · 24/12/2019 11:21

The reason I started this thread was because I ordered an item for delivery promised on Sunday so that I could take it to someone as a present on Monday.
On Sunday the status said it was in the depot at 6am but not yet with the courier. I waited in all day but it didn't come. On Monday morning they changed the status to having arrived in the depot at 8am, to cover up that they hadn't delivered it the day before. Up until mid day it still said not with the courier, and I had to go to my friend's without their present.
You can guess what happened next. They tried to deliver while I was out.

Yeah one of the hermes couriers signed for and basically stole my parcel, £200 worth of products. Thank god I got a replacement. Absolute cowboys.

40somethingJBJ · 25/12/2019 01:18

I used to have two lovely ladies doing my area, who were both fairly sensible about where they left things if I wasn’t in, and were very good about leaving legible notes. Then one went to prison (serious but unrelated to her parcel delivering!) and the other one left. Now have a pleasant but not particularly sensible bloke in the week, who’s idea of a “safe place” is in the wheelie bin on bin day, or in the very middle of my garden in the pouring rain, and randoms at the weekend when it is hit and miss if they get the right house!

ouch321 · 27/12/2019 16:33

I have another one to add from this afternoon...

He buzzed me and told me he had a parcel to deliver. I buzzed him into the block and waited and waited and waited at my flat door for the knock.

Hermes tracker says the delivery man couldn't get access to the property!

Why buzz if you've no intention of delivering!?!?!

OneForMeToo · 27/12/2019 16:59

I’ve had a parcel due before Christmas Only today change to sorry your parcel is too big and will need our dedicated larger time delivery team in 48 working hours. Yeah thanks chaps it was a Christmas present for my toddler Xmas Angry

eosmum · 27/12/2019 17:02

Ordered two suitcases on 30 November, great price, for Christmas gifts never to be seen again. Had to go out and buy more for double the price.

TooManyPaws · 27/12/2019 17:14

Known as Herpes to many people, rather like ShittyLink. DPD are great around here usually except for one time when a replacement driver left the gate open and the dogs in the road; I actually got a real and helpful person in customer service. Amazon can't read - my very large (reproduction Royal Mail wall letterbox) mail box is in the side wall of the porch and an engraved plaque to say that on the front door as well as in the delivery instructions, but Amazon still can't find it.

Pipandmum · 27/12/2019 17:15

Yodel are worse!

MarshaBradyo · 27/12/2019 17:17

I cancelled the Christmas present order as they took over two weeks and couldn’t make it. Have reordered with someone else. Who knows how that will go as it’s Yodel. How these companies survive when they can’t do the one thing they’re meant to

DPD are the best here. The driver and the app meaning they are punctual and I know within an hour slot.

AuntHilda · 27/12/2019 17:18

Our Hermes courier is amazing. Even our dog is pleased to see her as she always brings him a biscuit Grin

OneForMeToo · 27/12/2019 17:19

I find 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 the best. Same day or next day. Get your driver is X stops away. They leave in the cupboard if I’m out and take a photo to show that too.

sameasiteverwasantiques · 27/12/2019 17:19

Touch wood I've never had any issue so far them. My local delivery guy is really nice.
