Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

We moved house just under a year ago. We are on nodding terms with the next door neighbours, but have never exchanged names. Now they've sent us a Christmas card with the names on, which should be great, as I won't have to ask them, except I can't read the handwriting! Any ideas? I've cut off the man's name as I can read that, and I can see the last one is Emily, but the other three are a mystery. If it helps, the children are girl, boy, girl.

Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

Becci for the first name

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/12/2019 09:22

Love, something something something & Emily.

Princesspickle777 · 10/12/2019 09:23

Maybe ask the postman/woman (if you ever see him/her) what the woman is called. Ours knows mine and my partners first names from post as it all tends to state first names now not an initial. The kids you can just have a guess at by what’s been said here.

NearlyGranny · 10/12/2019 09:24

Darcie for the first one? Agree with Aimée and Liam. Goodness, I hope she had a solicitor draw up her will!

Chemenger · 10/12/2019 09:24

Neill

NearlyGranny · 10/12/2019 09:25

Or if it's the mum, could be Deirdre - are they Irish? Deirdre and Liam go together. 😉

thecalmorchid · 10/12/2019 09:27

I think it's Niall written quite badly for the first.

WhenOneDoorClosesAnotherOpens · 10/12/2019 09:27

Becci, Anice, Colin and Emily

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 10/12/2019 09:28

I think it's Ania rather than Aimee, as the 'a' is the same as in Liam (looks like a double 'e').

The first name seems to end in either 'ail' or 'aci' and I think the second one is an 'r'. Could it be Graci?!

Having said that, it could be a name from a different culture/country entirely and not one that many Brits would be familiar with anyway.

If we extrapolate the proposed new law that all newborn babies will be known as Balonz by default until/unless named otherwise, I'd just call her that - or possibly Balanza as a feminine version.

Doilooklikeatourist · 10/12/2019 09:28

Becci , Aimee , Liam and Emily

CatInTheDaytime · 10/12/2019 09:30

I’ve spent hours squinting at various neighbours’ cards in this situation! I just gave up and went with ‘Happy Christmas to everyone at no. X” later when i knew them better it turned out their names included things like Tavish and Aine which I wouldn’t have been confident I had right anyway. It’s a minefield!

Ilovenutellaaaaa · 10/12/2019 09:30

Aimee, Liam and Emily...if you chopped the husband's name off could the first name be Kelli?

NiteFlights · 10/12/2019 09:31

Becci, Aimee, Liam, and Emily.

Rainbunny · 10/12/2019 09:34

The first name could be Reese? Probably unlikely since it's an unusual name but...

I have a terrible signature myself and for some reason I've developed the annoying habit of somehow adding an extra letter that doesn't exist in my name when I write it fast. Goodness knows what others make of my scrawl!

Littlebean0506 · 10/12/2019 09:35

I read amiee, Liam and Emily upon first look I honestly thought it said deli. It looks like a d to me and the next letter looks the same as the e in amiee (also looks like the a in Liam) and them there's a dot above one of the lines by the looks of it.

RoomR0613 · 10/12/2019 09:35

Becci

I don't think you can take too much notice of what the individual letters look like as the writer is quite inconsistent. If you look at the word as a whole it makes more sense.

LolaDabestest · 10/12/2019 09:37

I'd say becci but who are the kids? As normally you'd write the kids last...Aimee is right

BHouse19 · 10/12/2019 09:37

Aimee Liam and Emily

ravensoaponarope · 10/12/2019 09:38

Neill, Aimee, Liam and Emily.
Only one I'm not sure of is Aimee/Amiee

PunishmentSnart · 10/12/2019 09:38

I'm going to throw a spanner in the works and say I don't think it says Liam - it looks like there's too many letters and also the dot on the I is nearer the end of the name rather than over the second letter.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 10/12/2019 09:39

Go over there with a nice pen and ask her to check something for you. Say you've been given this lovely new pen as a gift, but, as you're only really used to biros, you wonder if you're holding it wrongly as it seems scratchy and the ink doesn't flow very clearly.

Give her the pen, along with a sheet of paper with your family's names at the top, where you've been 'practising' and ask her to give it a good few tries for you now.

Even without the 'prompt' from you, most people test out a new pen by writing their own name (or 'Hello' or a rude word). If you still can't decipher her several efforts, tell her you've even had the same issues when printing out words non-joined-up and in big bold capitals - could she try that too and see if she finds the same?

PrettyPurse · 10/12/2019 09:40

Deirdre?

TheJoxter · 10/12/2019 09:42

I think it’s Ania not Aimee (if it was they’ve spelt it Amiee)

bobstersmum · 10/12/2019 09:42

Dreicc maybe an alternative spelling of Drake?
