Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

We moved house just under a year ago. We are on nodding terms with the next door neighbours, but have never exchanged names. Now they've sent us a Christmas card with the names on, which should be great, as I won't have to ask them, except I can't read the handwriting! Any ideas? I've cut off the man's name as I can read that, and I can see the last one is Emily, but the other three are a mystery. If it helps, the children are girl, boy, girl.

I think Amiee/Aimee with her fancy quasi-French spelling is the half-sister of Liam and Emily. But the parent they have in common, who used no doubt their mother, has a love of ‘i’s and ‘m’s.

Was hoping OP found out by page 19 Sad

snowball28 · 10/12/2019 22:51

There’s a dot above the first one so I’m going to hazard a guess at Becci

CeCeLaine66 · 10/12/2019 23:54

Looking at icant’s enlarged picture I’m now seeing Dillie!

Foldinglaundryisnotforme · 10/12/2019 23:57

Kelli?

JoanieCash · 11/12/2019 00:01

Go and vote on Thursday. Take your glasses and When they’re crossing your name off the list stare very hard at the lines above or below yours to read their names.

Fig678 · 11/12/2019 00:28

Diane

Biscuitsandteaplease · 11/12/2019 06:59

After looking at the picture multiple times, I am now convinced it's Diane

Mrsemcgregor · 11/12/2019 07:42

I agree with Aimee/Amiee Liam and Emily.

I’m going to throw a Darci into the mix for mum?

Steve, Darci, Aimee, Liam and Emily.

They sound lovely.

Yahboosnubsme · 11/12/2019 07:56

Seeing your update which includes Steve, the last three are:

Ania, Liam and Emily

Whoever wrote this card, doesn't close their 'a's at the top. The dot on the 'i' in Ania is actually in the right place.

Still trying to figure out the mums name!

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 11/12/2019 08:09

It can't be Ania as there is a letter between the A and supposed n - the first stroke of the original m.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 11/12/2019 08:11

If it is Liam and Emily, you'd expect another solid "traditional" name for the first child wouldn't you?

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 11/12/2019 08:16

Fresh eyes this morning 👀

It's definitely:

Aimee - ungrateful eye roller

Liam - Poor boy in the box room

Emily - precious youngest, yet to turn into a teenage horror (she will be the worst)

BlouseAndSkirt · 11/12/2019 08:29

Give her the pen, along with a sheet of paper with your family's names at the top, where you've been 'practising' and ask her to give it a good few tries for you now

LOL, if one of my neighbours did this I would assume they had taken in some of my post and were now trying to learn to forge my signature for identity theft.

girlsname · 11/12/2019 08:33

Neil, Aimee, Liam and Emily

Yahboosnubsme · 11/12/2019 09:31

That's a rogue stroke to confuse you @DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn!

If you look at the 'm's in Liam and Emily, and compare them to the second letter in Ania, it has a different style.

Yahboosnubsme · 11/12/2019 09:33

Is Aimee any more traditional than Ania? I'd rate them both the same. I'd agree with you on tradition if the first child's name was spelled as Amy, but it's clearly not.

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 11/12/2019 09:48

My case for Aimee

GiveHerHellFromUs · 11/12/2019 10:03

@Yahboosnubsme I only know two Ania's and ones Polish and the other is Bulgarian.

I know a few Aimee's who are all English.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 11/12/2019 10:09

Really? I've never even heard of Ania. I assumed it was a "foreign" name. Aimee and all various spellings is fairly common.

I suppose you could also steer the conversation around to birth dates, mothers' maiden names, first pets and memorable places, to keep your options open in case you do later choose to go down that route Grin

ItsPeanutButterJelly · 11/12/2019 10:25

Drew, Aimee, Liam and Emily

MilkLady02 · 11/12/2019 10:37

Why do people think the wife is called Niell?! I mean it’s a possibility, but very unlikely!!

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 11/12/2019 10:43

We established a few pages back that the wife is called Drecci

Bootstraps · 11/12/2019 10:58

@DebbieFiderer you really have to ask your neighbour. Just say thank you for the card, I’m so sorry I can’t make your name, can I check the spelling. Then check the kids’ names with particular attention to Amiee/Aimee.
